Everyone thought that Harry as the chosen one, wanted to defeat Voldemart because he killed his parents. But apparently that was so far from the truth that it was laughable. His reason for wanting to kill Voldemart had nothing to with his parents and everything to do with becoming his on man. Harry wanted to be able to do what he wanted and when he wanted without worrying if his actions would be considered light or dark. He wanted what the dark lord wanted and feared the most along with the illustrious Dumbles.
