"Yea I can't believe I finally found it, look come see I'll show you" she said as she ran her hand through her hair and yawned before rubbing her eyes and smiling "sorry" she said waving her hand to tell her to follow.

"I've been up for it feels like days…I've been trying to find this since Thanksgiving but since we've had SO much time off it's taken me until now to find it" she said as they walked into the spare bedroom that looked like a war zone.

Boxes were everywhere, things were laying all over the room and the closet door was open and a step stool was in the door way which told her that whatever had been found was up high on some shelf.

"Ok so what's so special about this, I don't understand these feelings you Earth people have about these…what do you call them?" Vala titled her head to the side and her face scrunched up "organisms?" Sam laughed and shook her head.

"There called Christmas ornament's Vala…they go on Christmas trees, remember that movie we watched?" Sam said as she picked up one of the smaller boxes that had been sitting on the bed.

"Oh yes, there was a tree in the living room and the people were putting lights and shiny and sparkly things on it and there was pretty wrapped different sized boxes under it" she said happily, Earth humans were strange, even stranger then the Jaffa.

"Yep and some people make them when there little in school for their parents and then their parents keep them for years and years, so some of them have special sentimental value to them but would just be another ornament to someone else" Sam told her as Valla nodded, her eyes wide with wonder.

"You can buy them in stores and some of them are like action figures or they make music or your parents got one when you were born with the year you were born written on it or one that a picture of you can go into it" Sam smiled as she watched Vala's face light up.

"This is one my father got me the day I told him I was joining the Air Force" Sam said as she held up a tiny ivory coloured glass plate with the date written on it and a picture of a jet, and a blue ribbon to hang it on the tree with.

"It's very pretty" Vala said "are any of these ornament's you humans have and use worth any sort of price?" she asked as Sam shook her head, Vala was always thinking about money or stealing.

"No Vala, I told you some of them only have personal sentimental value, no money value what so ever" Vala's face fell a bit but watched as Sam moved from the bed to the desk and opened a drawer and pulled out another box.

"Here, this is for you" she handed the box to Vala, whose face once again lit up happily as she held the box and looked at it, she was like a kid in a candy store.

"Go on then, open it" Vala nodded and set about opening it and smiled as she saw a few little different shapes, sizes and colours of ornament's laying in the box.

She picked one up, it was green and it had painted on it 'Vala's First Christmas' and the date under it "where did you get these?" she asked Sam.

"We made a few of them, but some of them we had ordered or got Siler to make for us…since this is your first Christmas and all" Sam said shrugging as she smiled, Vala was happy and excited.

"Thank you, all of you guys" she said quickly grabbing Sam and pulling her in for a hug, mindful of the box in her hand, this was going to be a fun little Earth tradition each year Vala was sure of it.
