"Hey, James! Where are you going?" I heard Sirius yell to me as I walked towards the lake.
"Just a walk," I said trying to make it sound boring. I looked over my shoulder and saw him shrug and head back inside. I figured he was off to pull some prank on Snape.
I started running and only stopped when I was a few feet from a girl sitting in the grass. She was laying on her stomach writing an essay for Defence Against the Dark Arts. She kept having to push her red hair out of her eyes because it was so long.
I walked up and collapsed next to her. "Need any help with that, Lily?" I asked.
"Not from you I don't, Potter," she answered annoyed at my interrupting her.
"C'mon. Let's go for a walk! You need to relax. And you haven't called me Potter for months!" I said.
"Well maybe you should leave me alone when I'm working. I'll go for a walk when I'm done," she said trying to get rid of me.
"Nope! I'm taking you up on that right now before you change your mind!" I said grabbing her around the waist and picking her up so she was standing. I grabbed her hand and pulled her away from her homework.
"Just because we're dating now doesn't mean I'm going to stop doing my work to hang out with you!" she exclaimed.
"This will be fun! I have a prank planned. This time, though, you will like it!" I answered as we walked back into the castle.
We walked up to the Room of Requirement where I knew Sirius would take naps if he wasn't with me. Like I knew he would be, he was asleep in a hammock. I put one finger on my lips to tell her to be quiet and we walked over by him.
I used a charm to write on his face 'I love Remus". Lily started giggling and immediately cast the muffliato spell so we wouldn't wake up Sirius. When I finished we walked back out to the lake so if Sirius came to find us we would seem innocent.
Not long later, we saw Sirius come outside. He didn't seem to notice the writing on his face, or if he did he was really good at hiding it.
"Are you two coming inside for supper or what? Wait, what are you guys laughing at?" he asked noticing us trying not to laugh.
"Right before you came out James told me a funny joke," Lily answered shrugging.
"Oh, well if that's it, let's go eat!" he said cheerfully.
