Over the years I have rewritten this story way too many times, mainly because I wasn't satisfied with the finished product, but this time I'm going to just stick to the old plot and I am very sorry for being so indecisive and making everyone wait to figure out what exactly I wanted to turn this FanFiction into.

Disclaimer: I do not own any rights to InuYasha I only own this made up story in my head.

Rin's thoughts

The night sky was clear and filled with stars, the moon shone down on a creek where a young woman sat upon a flattened boulder dipping her feet into the cool stream. She played with the water using her toes, swirling it around feeling its soft and fluid texture. Letting out a small sigh she admired the way the moon reflected itself on the creek, making the dampened rocks shimmer as the water moved downstream towards the small village she lived in. The young woman looked up at the moon and smiled sadly it always reminded her of him, the way it held itself so majestically in the sky, its pure white color, and how beautiful it was to look at.

She took her feet out and tucked them to her chest, as she laid her chin on her arms she closed her eyes and remembered something from five years ago. It was the day he had stopped visiting her. It wasn't like she didn't notice a change in him, but she chose to ignore it as each visit became less often, finally, on her thirteenth birthday she saw him one last time. He gave her a new kimono as always and left without saying goodbye. At first there wasn't anything to be concerned about, but after a few years of hearing nothing about his whereabouts there was no point in expecting his arrival anytime soon.

There was a small noise coming from the forest from across the creek, she snapped out of her daze and stood up in a more defensive position. She heard footsteps approaching her and turned to run back to her home, but was stopped by a warm hand that wrapped around her arm. She remained calm.

"Why did you stop me?" She asked in a firm voice. There was no answer.

From what the stranger could see she was possibly a beautiful woman despite being a human. She had a nice scent that was vaguely familiar and he could see was slim with curves. Her raven black hair fell to the small of her back in waves. From her voice he noticed she was soft-spoken and very pleasant to listen to.

"Please answer, why did you stop me?" She asked again.

This time he responded, "I am looking for a human." She gasped as she recognized his deep voice.

"S-Sesshomaru-sama?" She turned around to face him.

Sesshomaru released the young woman and examined her face, her doe-like eyes almost surprised him, but Lord Sesshomaru was never surprised, instead he continued to look at her for a bit. Soft facial features very ladylike indeed. Her scent had changed but it was still sweet, not sickly sweet though.

"Rin you've grown." Sesshomaru answered in monotone keeping his facial expression stiff and indifferent. Her expression changed into one of displeasure.

"Sesshomaru-sama, I believe you will have to forgive me for this…" Her voice shook. "Where the hell have you been for the past five years?! You know, that really makes you look like a fucking jerk you stupid dog! Leaving without a word and coming back as if I'm not going to be completely livid with you!" Rin screamed, flailing her arounds around just to emphasize how mad she was.

"Rin." He placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

"I apologize Sesshomaru-sama, I lost my composure." She bowed her head deeply.

"Hn, have you lost your respect for me?" He growled a bit.

"I have not, but I felt the need to voice myself even if I was stepping out of bounds." She replied.

"Hn, this Sesshomaru is not very pleased with your behavior Rin." Her name rolled off of his tongue in a somewhat sensual manner.

"Sesshomaru-sama, this Rin is very pleased you are here." She teased a bit.

"You are mocking me." He made a displeased face.

"Will you disappear again?" She asked beating around the bush.

"I am waiting for something." Sesshomaru replied vaguely.

"Would you like to stay at my house? It's far enough away from the village." Rin offered.

"This Sesshomaru will accept." Rin stared at him, surprised her offer wasn't rejected.

"Please, follow me." She started walking through the grass.

"No shoes?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Like I ever needed shoes." She smiled.

"Hn." His usual catchphrase, guess there are things that won't ever change.

Before Rin could take another step she was scooped up into his arms. Instinctively she held onto him her arms wrapped around his neck, she noted he wasn't wearing his usual armor.

"Sesshomaru-sama?" She looked as if she had done something wrong.

"Rin?"

"I can walk."

"I am aware." Rin let out a frustrated breath through her nose.

"Then let me down please."

"It's late and I am tired, waiting for your small legs to make it home would take too long. I know where to go based on your scent."

"But you didn't recognize my scent. At least not right away." She argued.

"Hn." Sesshomaru ignored her as he started walking towards a hill overlooking the village.

Rin said nothing as she clung to him enjoying his warmth. She closed her eyes and felt warm tears fall from them.

"You're crying." Sesshomaru gently wiped away her tears which felt out of character.

"I missed you, of course I'm crying." She laughed a bit.

"Hn."

Sesshomaru continued walking and noticed Rin had fallen asleep. He moved a strand of hair that had fallen across her face, letting himself inside he found her room, it was spacious and there was a futon laid out on the floor. Still holding a sleeping Rin in his arms he made himself comfortable and positioned her in front of himself gently placing her on his mokomoko he glanced at her once more before drifting off to sleep.
