The cool air blew from the marsh, cooling the young Argonian's scales. His tail twitched eagerly. He had finally been chosen by the leader to make a kill. He yearned to serve both his king and the Night Mother. They wanted him to kill, so he would kill. The boy knew what was truly important in his life.

He moved stealthily, a shadow among shadows. Not even a vampire could have seen him in the dark. The Argonian took a deep breath and unsheathed his blade. It gleamed silver in the moonslight. There was no time to think of that. He picked the lock of the cabin with ease, twisting the pick with a dexterity that comes only from years of dedicated study. The door slid open silently. His heart raced forward when he saw his prey lying in the grip of peaceful sleep. She was an Imperial. He wondered for a moment what she was doing in Black Marsh before deciding that it didn't matter. He was to kill the woman who lived in this cabin, so he would.

A cricket chirped, startling the boy out of his reverie. The silence mounted as he took the first step across the room, watching the floorboards carefully. They were set into the mud of the marsh and should be silent, but- ah. He spotted a loose one. The Argonian transferred his weight to his left hand and slipped over the obstacle. All too quickly, he was at her bedside.

Now, looking down at her, he began to panic. He was about to kill someone. Could he really do this? He was only a kid after all, only eight. Kids didn't kill people. But- no. He had to. He had to kill this person. Just pretend it's a training dummy. And so he did.

In one quick movement, he slipped a gloved hand over the woman's mouth. He twisted his wrist, tipping back her head. The Argonian looked at the pale skin for a moment before drawing his dagger across her throat. The woman convulsed as her life's blood poured from her veins. He hissed in pleasure as her eyes opened, filled with terror and confusion. He watched as the horror faded, as the fear was replaced by a hazy peace.

He removed his hand from the woman's mouth and smiled. Veezara wiped the blade clean on her tunic and walked back towards the sanctuary.
