Author's Notes: Well, here goes my first Twilight fan fiction. This would be set sometime during Eclipse.
Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight or its characters.
Seth Clearwater worried about his sister.
She was so angry, and bitter, and un-Leah lately that he and his mother didn't know how to deal with her. Not that her attitude came as a surprise to anyone however; after all, the guy she loved Imprinted on her cousin/sister-figure, their dad passed away from a heart attack, and she had become a werwolf in a pack where there were no private thoughts while shifted. And, according to her, that last fact had become worse when he turned into one as well and she had to hear her little brother's thoughts.
He really couldn't object to the last one; he wasn't completely exstatic about being subjected to her thoughts either. Especially, when she thought about Sam.
Shuddering (since, thanks to his sister, he had a dream about a shirtless Alpha), he stuffed his hands in his pockets and went off to look for Leah. She hadn't come to hang out with the rest of the pack that afternoon, but to be fair, her absense might not have been her fault. Their pack brothers were a lot less forgiving about her attitude adjustment and thus did not go out of their way to include her outside of patrols.
Which is so not fair. Jacob is just as mopey and pathetic over that Vampire Girl as Leah is about Sam but nobody cares.
Having no real idea about where Leah could have been, Seth decided to go home and start from there. Luckily, when he got closer his sensitive hearing picked up heavy metal (some Metalica song, he forgot the name of) blasting from her room and, grinning, sprinted inside and up the stairs.
Leah Clearwater was sprawled across her bed, book in hand, and nodding along to the music. At the sound of her door creaking open, she looked up wearily before making a weak smile at her brother.
"Hey, Squirt , what's up? Still not old enough to hang with the big boys?"
The barb lacked the vitrolic edge she was becoming known for.
Seth rolled his eyes and said nothing. Now that he'd finally gotten her e and had Leah's attention, he wasn't exactly sure how to start this conversation. He and Leah, though close, did not have a touchy-feely Lifetime movie of the weak relatinship; before the Sam debacle, she told Emily everything and he wasn't sure if he could fill the whole their cousin left.
After a long moment, he finally asked, "Are you ok?"
Slowly, she sat her book down on the bed and attempted a smile. It was small and weak but it was a start.
"No, and I probably won't be for awhile. " She shrugged. "But I'll live. So don't worry about it."
He nodded slowly, unsure of what to do and she went back to her book. Deciding to leave it at that for now, he turned to leave but paused when she spoke again.
"And Seth? Thanks."
Author's Notes: The Metalica song Leah is listening to is "Sad But True". Please, read and review.
