Quality time

I love buck and have been obsessing with him since I watched Ice age 3 again. Damn that movies funny, and the only way I can get rid of my obsession is either by drawing or writing about him.

Completely pointless and short but hey, what's wrong with that? Hope you all like it :)

Buck belongs to whoever made ice age although I really wish he was mine. (a girl can still dream though)

The light was getting brighter outside of his hollow but he didn't really feel like leaving just yet. It had been a while since he had just hung around at home with the misses. His beloved pineapple would always wait right here patiently for him and he felt she deserved a bit of attention, after all she wasn't getting any younger, or prettier.

Putting away his knife, which he had been carefully sharpening, he leaped of his comfy perch atop a pile of leave and over to a natural dent in the tree. With loving care he removed the ugly yellow fruit from its hiding place and tenderly hugged it.

"Hello love, thought maybe you and I should spend some quality time together."

Of course the fruit didn't answer but Buck smiled all the same. "Thought you'd like that."

Very carefully he placed her near the hole so that the sun shined softly on her prickly skin.

"There, nice and comfy." he said with a smile. Quickly he returned to his spot on the leaves so that he was opposite the fruit.

"Ya know, I wish I could have introduce you to the others. You remember the ones I told you about?"

A gust of came sweeping through the tree causing the pineapple to rock side to side as if nodding.

"Of course you do, you always had a good memory." Buck sighed. "Do you think I should have gone with them? Up to the surface?

The pineapple didn't move.

"Of course I would have brought you with me but… do you think I made a mistake?"

Buck waited for a long while, staring into the hard, prickly surface of his love. His eyes narrowed slightly as he listened to the conversation only he could hear.

"Well, I stayed because of Rudy… and you of course." he added quickly.

The pineapple rolled again as the winded retuned.

"Don't be daft, I would never get tired of you."

The wind pick up again and forced its way into the small hollow, knocking over rocks, bits of leave and the pineapple.

"Pineapple!" he shouted, throwing himself to the floor beside the fallen fruit.

Tenderly he pick her up and held her close to his chest, his ears drooped as he listened to what she had to say.

"I know you only want what's best for me but how could I ever leave you?" he brushed some dirt away from her skin. "I love you more then I've ever loved another fruit and I don't regret staying here with you."

He waited for moment before saying. "Well… no, I don't know what I'm going to do when your gone but… that's not gonna happen for a long time.

Buck hugged the fruit tightly, although not too tightly in case he damaged her. "I know… I love you too sweetheart."

Outside a echoing roar reached his ears. Rudy was up and properly looking for him.

"Well darling I have to go." He returned his wife to the hiding place in the hole. "I'll bring ya back something nice." he promised.

Giving the fruit a gentle pat he retrieved his prized knife and jumped head first out into the bright, blinding light, a smile spread across his face at the thought of his loving pineapple waiting for him when he returned.

That should do it, wow this is the first thing I've written in a long time. It was really fun to do.
