It was a dark night outside.
A was out walking alone, her father passed out drunk back at home after beating her for the night. Like every time she left the house, she had her knife with her. Tonight, she was very glad she had it with her, for she felt as though she was being followed.
Suddenly, it started to rain, and A ducked into an ally. Sadly, the alley was a dead end, and she was right about feeling like she was being followed. She was being followed by three men dressed in all black, all of them wearing glasses.
One of the men, who was wearing sliver glasses that reflected a bit of light from an overhead street lamp and short well-kept dark hair, stepped forward and pulled out what looked to be a book. He opened the book and looked down at it, then closed it.
"This is the girl we're looking for," he said, and as soon as he finished talking the other two men attacked A. She grabbed her knife and started to fight back, but it didn't work. Something about the two attackers seemed familiar to A, but she couldn't quite think of what it was that made them so familiar. Then, one of the men with very long brown hair pulled out a chainsaw.
"It's time for death, A," he said, his free hand making the 'rock on', and it immediately hit A who the men were. Sadly, it was to late, for the chainsaw had plunged into her chest just as it hit her who they were.
"Nice shot, Grell," she said as she hit the ground, and her Cinematic Record burst forth right at the moment of impact.
Her record showed how her father had beaten her every day since she was very young; it showed how she watched her older brother shoot her mother, and then her brother being shot by the police; it showed how mafia members used her to get information that they needed because she was a genius; it showed her being taken away by police twice and being put in a mental institution for awhile, but she was released and sent home to be beaten by her father; it showed how much she loved reading and how she loved medical things, which the mafia also used against her.
As the three shinigami watched A's Record, William said nothing but had a look of disgust on his face; Ronald looked as if he might vomit at how this girl was treated; Grell looked as if he was going to cry.
But before it ended, William grabbed the end of the Record and began the process of turning A into a shingami. The process didn't take long too do, Ronald and Grell just standing and watching William work, staying far out of his way. Grell turned his hair back to its normal bright red while they waited and as he wondered how A knew who he was, and if she knew who the other two shingami were.
When William was finished with the transformation, Ronald made a portal back to the shingiami realm. William picked A up bridal style because she was still unconscious, and Grell picked up a pair of red glasses he saw laying in the puddle of blood.
