Just Like Her Mother

"Daddy?" Little Alethea Malfoy asked, tugging on the sleeve of her father's silk pajama top.

It was the middle of the night. Draco groaned and buried deeper into the bed.

"Daddy!" Alethea said, stomping her foot. She hated being ignored.

Draco's wife kicked him under the covers. He groaned once more and slowly emerged from the covers. He slowly turned on the light and winced at it's brightness.

"What's the matter baby girl?" he asked groggily.

"I had a bad dream," she said in that child's whisper.

Draco smiled at his beautiful child. Her red hair- so like her mother's- was rumpled from sleep, as was her green night gown. Her bunny- which Alethea had deemed Won-Won- was tucked haphazardly under her arm. Her gray eyes were sleepy but her mouth was set in a defiant line.

"Poor baby," her father murmured. "Would you like to tell me about it?"

Alethea shook her head. "No daddy."

"Alright then," Draco said. "What do you want me to do?"

His daughter stuck her lower lip out. "I want to sleep with you and mommy."

"Alright punkin," he said, helping his daughter climb into the bed between him and his wife.

Very soon, Alethea Malfoy fell asleep. Draco stared down at his little girl, thumb in her mouth and Won-Won clutched tight to her chest.

"Amazing, isn't she?"

He looked up and smiled at his wife, who was propped up on her elbow, same as Draco, and gazing down at their daughter. Her red hair spilled onto the pillow, looking deliciously rumpled. She caught his eye and smiled, her brown eyes sparkling. Draco stroked his daughter's hair.

"Looks just like her mother," he said quietly.

"Yeah, yeah," Ginny whispered, hitting her husband lightly on the shoulder.

"Isn't this funny Ginny?" Draco said suddenly. "We used to hate each other and now... we have this little person."

"Mmmmm..." his wife murmured. "You know, if we have another one, we're going to need a bigger bed."

"Looks like we're going to need to go shopping," he said, giving his wife a wiggle of the eyebrows.

He leaned in and gave her a kiss. It started to get pretty heated, until his daughter spoke up.

"Daddy?" she asked. "If we're going shopping, can I get a new broom?"

Draco laughed. "Oh yeah- just like her mother."
