Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, obviously.

Summary: Severus should know to keep his mouth shut. Just a little one shot.

Reviews would be lovely

"Lily, I don't know how many times I can say it... I'm sorry."

"Don't say it then. Sometimes you need to learn to keep your mouth shut Severus."

It killed me to admit she was right. That was the thing about Lily Evans, no matter how much it drove me mad, in the end she was always right.

I couldn't help but to just keeping standing there outside the Gryffindor common room, even long after she'd gone. I couldn't find the energy anymore to do anything but stand there and press the repeat button. I hadn't even bothered changing my words, it wouldn't make a difference.

"Snivellus," Just who I needed to come around. "Snakes don't belong in the lion's den."

"Potter, be glad for your sake that I'm not a poisonous one. You wouldn't be still up and walking if I were."

James Potter was never the kind of boy to stand being insulted. I think that prat was scared that if anything would take his ego down even the slightest, he might just explode, kind of in the same way a balloon pops if you take a pin to it.

Before I could even go for my wand, Black had already come out from behind him and strung me up by my leg.

"Using my own spells against me? How so childish of you, but then again, I know you have the intellectual capacity to come up with your own."

From where I was, I wouldn't be surprised if the crash I made when I hit the ground woke up the entire school. Even though it took me a moment or two to clear my vision, there was no mistaking the fiery redhead a few feet away from me.

"James Potter, I swear..." As I sat up I realized her face too was red with anger.

"But Evans, he called..."

"That is absolutely none of your business, James."

"Lily, I..." I managed to spit out. She turned to me, shooting me the same look of disgust she had been giving Potter, "You don't need to..."

"Severus I warned you about keeping your mouth shut."

"But Lily..."

Before I could finish that sentence, she had already made her way over to me.

I couldn't help but stare in awe and confusion as she pulled her lips away from mine.

"Don't say I didn't warn you."
