A tiny smile allowed itself on her face. Everything was ready for testing. With hand resting on the keyboard, the fingers pushed down a key.
Enter.
As a loading screen appeared, she brushed aside stray platimum-blonde hair, adjusted her attached mouthpiece and turned it on.
"Commence testing."
From the survelliance cameras, she could see the setup procedure.
The chamber exuded a whiff of white smoke, its doors slid open to reveal the parts they contained inside. Metal claws protuded to assemble the parts, attaching the components together.
Within seconds, the body was assembled, grey resin hiding the wires beneath. A click sounded as the Portal gun was attached in place. The claws clamped down on the remaining parts and brought them to the robot.
The body created to resemble the shapes and curves of a young woman, the Aperture Science logo appropriately printed on the surface. The creation of the robot had the objective of making her as lifelike as possible. Hair, black and made of polyester fibres cascaded down from a tied ponytail, the face was flawlessly moulded and very familiar.
Assembled and fully functioning, Robot #099999 stepped out of the open chamber, the light from the portal gun bright in the dim room.
She turned the speaker on.
"These tests involve feats that are beyond human ability. Consequently they have never been solved by a human."
The panel flickered. 1/119
"That's where you come in." She pressed a key. The door slid open. The robot entered from the open door, red eyes flicking from left to right, scanning the environment.
"You don't know pride. You don't know fear. You don't know anything."
Rockets bombarded a millisecond later. Instantaenously, the robot dodged as the room shook with a large explosion. The smoke cleared to reveal a completely destroyed chamber door.
"Target accquired. Dispensing product." Red beams fell on the grey form of the robot, who began to run, somersaulting out of range as bullets rained down from the turrets above.
"Target lost." The turrets chimed, beams sweeping around in search once more.
The portal gun blasted twice, in the robot's way as it hurtled toward the wall, another at the ceiling. It slipped through the portal and twisted deftly as lasers appeared on the floor, landed with one hand and sprung away, safe from any turrets or lasers, unscathed, at the edge of a fire pit.
"You'll be perfect." She smiled.
