Have you ever felt like nobody was there?

He closed the bathroom stall.

The bottles felt cold in his hands.

His shaking, spidery hands.

Spencer foraged in his bag for a needle.

"One more time," he told himself. "One more time."

Have you ever felt forgotten in the middle of nowhere?

Spencer slipped away from reality, the reality that gave him the drug he was currently riding.

The team hadn't asked, or hadn't wanted to ask.

He knew the bags under his eyes were more sunken; he knew he lost more weight than his frame could afford; he knew he had been late and off his game.

But still, the team said nothing.

Have you ever felt like you could disappear?

His body fell to the floor.

Cold floor, cold bottles, cold hands.

Spencer felt like he could waste away in that bathroom stall and no one would notice.

They hadn't noticed anything else.

But if he was being honest with himself, he wasn't sure if wanted them to.

Like you could fall, and no one would hear?

Morgan needed a break from this case. The UnSub was brutal, more so than even the BAU were used to seeing. As he swung the door open to the head, he heard it hit something on the ground.

It was Reid. His Reid. Reid's shoes and mismatched socks protruding from a stall.

And Morgan wasted no time doing what he does best: kicking in doors. The sight before him made him sick to the core.

Reid was sprawled on the ground, belt above his elbow, and a bottle of Dilaudid cradled by a frail hand.

"Oh god, oh god, Reid, Reid..." Morgan was on his knees immediately, fingers brushing the side of Reid's neck. Finding a pulse, Morgan let out a breath he didn't think he would had. "Reid, c'mon wake up, Reid, you gotta wake up", he's shaking the thin shoulders beneath him. He's torn between calling Hotch and protecting Reid's position at the BAU.

Screw it all to Hell.

"Hotch!"

Hotch heard the scream of one of his agents, and he knew it was a scream of pain - you knew that kind of sound in this profession.

He sprinted down the hall to the men's room, and his eyes failed him. This could not be happening. He knew something was up with Reid...but never could have guessed this. A uniformed officer who heard the shout was dialing for an ambulance.

Even when the dark comes crashin' through

Morgan had tears on his face.

The uniform was performing CPR.

When you need someone to carry you

Reid came to, hacking and sobbing.

Morgan sheltered Reid in his arms, and Reid collapsed into him.

Hotch knew this moment between them was a holy one, so instead of intervening, he stepped away and dialed Gideon.

"We need to talk."
