She sat in the uncomfortable metal chair, the sound of people talking filled the room with a dull buzz,a fold out table was faced against the wall closest to the on it was warm lemonade and cheap cookies. She sighed as she took in her surroundings shaking her mom is the one who made her come thought it would do them both some good if they went to support didn't think she needed could still see her mother sitting at the kitchen table, the house had a heavy air in it still, despite it already been three weeks.
"You're being distant."
"I'm coping...same as you."
"You haven't talked to anyone, that's not healthy...you can't just bottle it up Sakura...I know it's hard but please." her mom pleaded with her, tears filling the corner of her eyes a few spilt and now ran down her cheek.
So now here she was at some support group for youth that have lost a parent.
A man clearing his throat interrupted her from her thoughts, she looked up and saw a bunch of people all different ages one from the looks of eleven and too nineteen man was tall and was pale with tired eyes he had light brown hair to his ears but wore a navy blue bandana on his head. He was dressed casually...now that she looked most were...he had a matching navy blue black jogger pants.
"Welcome everyone." he drawled in a sleepy deep voice.
"Most of you know me,but for those of you who don't I am Genma. You know why you're here."
He then turned towards me. "I can see we have one person who I don't recognize." He looked over to me as did everyone else. I tried my hardest not to blush.
"What's your name, age, and how long it's been."
She stared at him for a second before realizing he was talking to her. "Uh; Sakura Haruno...17...and it's been about three weeks," She looked up and saw his eyes urging her to go sighed, ",it...it was my dad...it was cancer...it was sudden...one day he joking as he fixes the garage door the next day he was given 3-6 months."
She could feel her throat getting heavy.
"As I got older we got farther apart,I got busy with life I guess...so when we found out...it was weird...I don't know…" I looked down at the floor.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Sakura." everyone said in unison.
"So are you from here?" Genma asked
"No we moved here like two weeks ago,my parents are from here and moved to Suna when they got married...my mom's sister lives here."
"Well I am sure on behalf of everyone here ,Welcome to Konohagakure!"
Everyone muttered their welcomes and then group proceeded for about another hour.
She sat there listening to everyones stories about their parent they lost, some lost them when they were five while others lost them months ago, Sakura's was the newest.
After everyone was done sharing Sakura's mom insisted that she stay after and socialize. "Who knows you might find a friend in this." were her exact words Sakura recalled.
"Stupid optimist." She muttered to herself.
She made her way to the fold out table and grabbed a paper cup full of the warm lemonade,it tasted too watery and sour, not enough powder.
"So how do you like our quaint village so far?" A boy with tan skin and wild brown hair said to her.
His hair went in every direction, spiked all over the place and went to just above his remembered he introduced himself as Kiba. A kid stood next to him, couldn't be more than 13 really,he had brown hair that was darker than Kiba's and he was pale, he wore a long blue scarf and goggles on his guessed some people need this group more than others. He was Konohamaru.
"Um it's alright...haven't gone out much...ya now too busy being depressed and all." She muttered while eyeballing the door.
Kiba barked out a laugh a little to loud to be natural. "Wow you are funny!" he said loudly again making everyone turn around and look at them.
Her cheeks flushed."Um maybe I'll see you around." Her grip tightened on her bag strap as she rushed out the door her eyes trained on the floor. She walked as fast as her short legs would allow her. She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't even notice the dark haired man, equally not paying attention heading her way.
A sudden thud knocked her out of her thoughts as she was suddenly on the floor rubbing her forehead awkwardly.
"I'm sorry." She muttered as she made sure she had everything,She looked up and saw obsidian eyes looking directly at her. Her cheeks deepened in their flush as he was the most gorgeous man she had ever seen.
He had perfect pale skin that did not have any imperfection it. The only thing that was on his face was deep bags under his eyes that made him seem the most tired man on had the softest looking hair that was black like ink and fell to frame his face and collected a little past his collar bones held in a ponytail.
She swallowed the heartbeat in her throat and ignored the hand he stuck out, mumbled another apology before practically running out.
"So how was it?" Her mother asked when she came home.
"Peachy." She replied sarcastically as she pulled a cigarette from the pack.
"Most children don't do that in front of their mothers."
"When have I been most children?" She deadpanned as she lit the cancer stick taking a long drag.
"Well do you have to do it right here?" Her mother motioned to the living room.
"She took another long drag before turning and going to her room."
"Sakura!" Her mother shouted after her but she didn't stop.
