That…That…Deokman was infuriating! She wanted to hug her! She wanted to kill her! She loved her! She hated her! She was all around fascinated by her. Were she not the twin princess, were it not necessary that she either die or be rendered utterly powerless, Mishil would readily take her under her wing. Indeed, she sometimes found herself inadvertently aiding the impudent wench because she could not curb her urge to do just that.

And sometimes…sometimes the girl said the strangest, most endearing things. Wish her a long life indeed! Mishil could have hugged her. Perhaps, in time, even forgiven her, were it not for the constant reminder, a klaxon in her head, that the girl wanted nothing more than to see her, not dead, but powerless. Utterly powerless. She was a clever one, that Deokman, to create scheme within schemes to fool this Mishil. And more than once! A formidable foe indeed.

Everytime Mishil thought she had figured out that girl, she through her for a loop. First there were her thought processs. This Mishil simply couldn't figure them out. Then there was her perplexing ability to get mixed up in everything. Third, her shocking revelation of her true gender and heritage. That had stung like a betrayal. To know that the boy she set her eyes upon and had been slowly reeling in was in fact a girl. To discover that the very twin princess she wanted, hunted for a decade, was not only here but had been close enough to touch, had been within her inner sanctum. Infuriating!

Now…now the annoying girl had the audacity to proclaim her intention to be Gyeowang! Female ruler! Of all the audacious things! How could a woman ever expect…

Gyeowang. Yes, that was an audacious dream…This Mishil, Gyeowang…Gyeowang. Had she not been ruling Silla from behind the scenes for twenty years? Perhaps it was time she stepped to the fore. Yes…she had to thank that girl for opening her eyes to this dream. She would succeed.

Mishil, Gyeowang.
