"Neji, you ready to go yet?" Neji responded with a grunt as he grabbed his coat and strode (Hyuugas do not simply walk) over to Tenten. It was the second tuesday of the month, which meant Team Gai met for dinner. "If you don't hurry up, we'll be late. And I do not feel like another lecture about my "diminishing youthfulness". Neji mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like 'you were the one who had to find your favourite pair of pants' as he opened the door for her, but Tenten let it slide.
Fifteen minutes later, Team Gai was sitting at their usual table (third booth on the right) when a young waitress, probaly in her early teens, came to take their drink orders. "Hi, my name is Lisa, and I'll be your waitress tonight, what can I get you to drink?" She took Neji's order ("Just water") and then turned to Tenten, her eyes lit up as she asked "Aww, when are you due?" tenten's eyes narrowed as she turned to Neji.
"You said I looked fine!" Lisa's eyes widened as she frantically tried to apologize. Neji burried his face in his hands, his elbow's resting on the table as he moaned. "I asked you if this outfit made me look fat, and you said no! I can't believe you would lie to me!"
"Tenten, stop it" Lee chastised, glancing nervously at Lisa, who looked as if she was about to cry. "I'm so sorry, I thought you were pregnant. I'm sorry," Neji cut her off as he mumbled "She is" into his hands, before glaring at Tenten, who by now had tears in her eyes.
By now, Lisa had figured out what was going on, and was laughing with Tenten, despite of the scene they had caused. She took the rest of the drink orders before walking back into the kitchen.
About an hour later, after leaing a generous tip on the table, Neji turned to Tenten, sighed, and said, "I can't take you anywhere."
"But you love me anyway, said Tenten, before skipping away with surprising grace for someone six months pregnant. Neji smirked to himself, and shook his head before running after Tenten.
