The Last Stand

Once again after 10 years of piece, the war was at hand. Anticipation of the young and dread of the experienced could even be smelled in the air. North and East joined forces and now were heading for the west. The Last Stand it would later be known as, as after it all demons went silent.

Sesshomaru, the lord of the western lands, wandered through his lands checking as always if all was well, if life runs smoothly. His routine hadn't changed a bit through out the past 200 years; even the appearance of Naraku didn't manage to change it. However, it was his personality that experienced the change. It would be too bold to say that from the stoic, cold-hearted demon, Sesshomaru became an openhearted person. No, definitely not, but a small smile form time to time would grace his delicate features. Responsible for that could be held the little girl, who now had grown up into a fine lady and partly the happiness of his half brother Inuyasha, who would often invite Sesshomaru to stay in his hut, if not for his own sake than for the sake of his ward as she and the kitsune had fallen in love with each other. At the times like these, one can hardly remember the hardships of the past, or feel the threatening presence of the future. But life is a constant movement and no good or bad day continues forever.

Early that morning a messenger, claded in red and black colours, appeared in front of Sesshomaru. He carried a message from Lords Tsushitaka and Urionmaru, who asked to join them or to be ready to be wiped out from the face of the earth. The answer to such insolent request never came back, as the poor messenger was cut clean in half by royally pissed Sesshomaru. He understood well that he had just brought the wrath of east and north upon his homeland, but let them come, and they would know what did it meant to insult the lord of the western lands. Driven by anger Sesshomaru changed into his true form and let out the most ominous howl the land hah ever heard. It was a howl, a call to war, from now on every single demon residing in his lands would follow his lead as else the destruction was sure to come.
