Summary: the four detectives play a game of Twister.
A/N: Sometimes I get weird ideas and this one seemed like fun to write down. So here are Bobby, Alex, Mike and Carolyn playing Twister. It's just a drabble so it's not long. And it's just for fun.
Twister
"I don't think I can."
"Sure you can, Bobby. Just try."
"But I'm too big."
"Not everything is about size." Alex puffed out. She couldn't hold her position much longer. "If anything your size is an advantage."
"I'm not sure. I don't want to hurt you." Looking at her he didn't want to crush her.
"I'm not going to break, okay. I can't keep this up much longer. Just go for it."
"Okay." Putting his weight on his hands he placed his right foot on blue. Alex was now trapped underneath him. He tried to keep most of his weight on his arms and legs, but leaning over her, it was easy to let her share some of his weight. He didn't feel very in balance at the moment.
It was her turn now. She had to put her right hand on green and left foot on yellow. She was already in an awkward position. Her back was to the mat, but she was steady. That was about to change. She had to stretch. First her left foot. Putting her weight on her right side, she quickly put her left foot on the yellow spot. Now the tricky bit. It was going to be difficult to balance herself and stretch to that big green spot. Taking a deep breath she went for it. However she made a big mistake by moving too fast. In a matter of seconds she lost her balance. Her hands and feet slipped. In her way down, her feet pushed Bobby's feet out from under him.
Before either truly realized it, they were lying on the ground, bodies pressed together. Alex crushed underneath Bobby's big frame.
This surely was something different, Bobby mused as he lay on top of Alex and not entirely uncomfortable either. Maybe a different setting would be preferable, but enjoy what you can get. Shifting, he put his weight on his arms. He didn't want to crush her small body.
"We rock! Told you we'd win!" Mike Logan exclaimed as he and Barek got off the Twister mat. "It's all about balance and flexibility."
Bobby and Alex didn't seem to hear his words. They were lost in each other's eyes.
"Doesn't seem to me they're sorry they lost." Carolyn noted when the two detectives on the floor still didn't make a move.
"Ya think we should leave?"
"Don't think they'd actually miss us. Hey, you two! You can get off each other now. Unless you prefer that position. In that case, we'll leave you two alone." Barek addressed her colleagues.
It was Alex who snapped out of it first. "Get off me you Twister failure." She said, pushing him off her.
"Me? You're the one who slipped. I was an innocent bystander. You took me down with you. You're the one who failed. Thought that a small woman like you had no problem with a kids game like Twister." On his feet again he offered his partner his hand to pull her up, but she refused.
"And why is that?" Getting up she brushed the dust off her clothes.
"Well I thought you were much more flexible and…you're you know not much bigger than..."
"Stop that train of thought before you are going to feel the consequences." Mike helped his friend out.
Seeing Alex's angry look he shot Mike a grateful look.
"Be grateful he interrupted you or you'd be in serious pain right now. Oooh and Goren…" Alex said, grabbing her coat as she walked to the door with Carolyn. "I'm plenty flexible. You just don't know yet." Turning around she opened the door and left.
Bobby was speechless. He swallowed and tried to make his mind work. When he succeeded in doing that, he heard Mike's laughter.
"She really is something else." Patting his friend's back he left Bobby's apartment.
And so the game of twister had ended in victory for Barek and Logan and an interesting possibility for Bobby.
The End
