Summary: Luna watched her father try to raise herself, after the love of his life, her mother, her best friend her only friend, die. She watched her father go threw the pain and hurt. Luna loves her father, but she wishes he wouldn't depend on her to make everything better.

Chp: 1

Luna silently sobbed in her bedroom after putting her father to sleep. He had been out late that night at the leaky cauldron drinking away his wife who had recently died. Luna loved her father, but why did he have to depend on her? She was only 9 years old after all, and in Luna's opinion, no one deserved to watch his or her father drink himself away to nothing. Luna had already lost her mother, now she was to lose her sober, caring father forever.

She prayed with her whole heart, that he would realize what he was doing to her. She remembered what her drunken father had cried to her as she put him safely in his bed, 'Luna, never let yourself fall in love, all it gets you is hurt. Don't trust anyone, all they will get you is in love, and my dear Luna…' he paused then continued, the look on his face when Luna remembered this made her cry harder, 'Promise me, you'll never hurt yourself, like me.'

She promised for her father, and as she thought about it, for herself. In her head the promise played like a depressing song:

'I will not make the same mistakes that you did,

I will not let myself cause my heart so much misery,

I will not break the way you did, you fell so hard,

I've learned the hard way not to let it get that far.'

She promised her father just that, but she made another promise a secret promise to herself; she'd never end up like her father no matter what it would take.

Luna woke up from her dreamless sleep, and remembered her duty to take care of her father, who would be up at any moment and locked in the bathroom for half the day. She hurried herself into the bathroom, took her usual 5minute shower, and raced to get dressed, washed, and her teeth brushed. She had no time to do something with her hair so she just threw it up in a messy, loose pony tail, then hurried to fetch everything she would need to nurse her father's hangover.

Luna had prepared everything in the order she would need them, then went softly walked into her fathers room and gently brought him back to the living, and aided him to the bathroom. He walked in one hand over Luna's shoulders that were balancing him, and the other hand rubbing his head. They limped over to the toilette and Luna helped her father get on his scruffy, bruised knees, onto the soft pillow neatly placed they're by Luna. She left him there to fetch him some water, and back to her father, who was, what seemed like, heaving his spleen out threw his mouth. Luna rapidly walked over to her father and threw herself on the floor where she began to rub his back soothingly.

'I was so young, you should have known better then to lean on me,

you never thought of anyone else, you just saw your pain,

and now I cry in the middle of the night for the same damn thing!'
