Ok lovely people this is a tiny missing scene I thought of after watching series 1 episode 4 (for the zillionth time!). This fits in while Alex and Gene are stuck in the vault, between Gene telling her that if she asks nicely he might share his whiskey, and him letting her. Hope you enjoy!
Just a Kiss
Taking another gulp of whiskey, Gene noticed Alex watching him again.
"Wots it worth?" He asked.
"Sorry?"
"Wot you willin' to do fer it Bolls?" Alex raised one eyebrow, not remotely surprised. "This is good stuff; not gonna give it away fer nothin'!"
"I suppose you expect me to flash my tits or something-"
"A kiss."
"What?"
"A kiss, Bolly." Alex stared at him. Gene looked serious. After a moment she spoke.
"Deal."
Alex shuffled closer, so their arms were practically touching. She turned to face him and, leaning in, pressed a light kiss to his cheek.
Gene felt her pull away slightly, though he could still feel her breath on his face, cooler than the air in the vault.
Her eyes closed, Alex paused, her face less than an inch from Gene's. A few seconds later she tilted her head and leant in closer, her lips meeting his.
After only a second of contact, Alex moved to pull away again, an apology for her inappropriate behaviour starting on her lips. She managed to breathe his name before Gene pulled her back to him and kissed her.
Feeling his hands on her waist, Alex kissed him back. Her right hand was settled on his thigh while her left slid comfortably around Gene's neck, securing them together.
Soon Alex's heart was beating out of her chest, the lack of oxygen becoming increasingly and painfully apparent. They broke apart, both gasping for breath, the physical connection breaking too as they separated reluctantly.
With her back against the wall once more, and her breathing returning to normal, Gene offered her his flask. Alex took it without a word and, bringing it to her lips, tipped a mouthful down her throat. He watched her; head tipped back, cheeks flushed, chest rising and falling, and long legs stretched out in front of her. Gene exhaled.
"Definitely worth it."
