Chap 1: Kiss

This is my first CM fanfic so please forgive. Kindly hit me with comments, questions, suggestions and requests. Thank you!

I hate this Law Enforcement Officers have these general seminars once in a while to make sure that everyone is updated. Honestly, we can do this all through memos and stuff but traditional people, a.k.a. the ones who are about to retire believe that seminars such as this is a good way for everyone to interact. I guess they didn't foresee just how bored everyone is going to be during the actual lectures.

As my guy gets off stage, I survey the poor set of people who are forced to listen through all of these talks. Some are actually quite interested but he majority are obviously quite bored. I smile at my poor employee. I bet he would think that it all went well. One thing you would hate to get would be a passive audience when speaking in places like these. No questions means they've heard all of what you had to say. The point of these is to show information that they need but don't have yet. If only I had a chance to go up there but alas! I couldn't. I was ready to take stage but just in the nick of time, I spotted a police officer who's involved in one of the organized hooligans that I joined when I went under. He' couldn't see me talking to a bunch of L.E.O's when he supposed to be under the impression that I'm in prison or dead. It's a good thing I brought this kid along just in case. I always try to be vigilant when speaking in groups because Karma is quite a fucking bitch and I don't want to see her anytime in the near future if I can help it.

A couple of speakers behind us is this kid who looks like a bundle of nerves. He probably hates these gatherings as much as I do. Basing from his clothes, I'm guessing he's probably part of one of the 3 ships: F.B.I., C.I.A., or N.S. 's he's from, he's screwed. These L.E.O.'s will eat him alive and spit him out before he realized what happened.

"K.I.S.S." I better help this kid out.

"Excuse me?" Wow so confused. His brown eyes and too-long hair show an innocence I haven't seen in a long time.

"Keep it short and simple. You look like you're ready to bolt and that won't do since you were probably sent here by your boss to lecture."

"I…uh…yeah. How'd you know?"

"Kid," even though he's like six feet tall. "you look like a bundle of nerves. Just keep it long enough to cover the essentials and short enough to keep it interesting and you'll be fine." Instantaneous understanding showed on his face.

"Thanks. Anymore advice?"

"Yeah. People don't care how much you know unless they know how much you care. Howard Hendricks. Appeal to their humanity and I think you'll be fine."

"Uh…thanks."

As soon as he said that I started walking with my poor employee. I hope he understood that what I said was for him to hear, too. He failed to do any of what I suggested and I hope he will one day learn.

If I knew what I know now, would I have stopped to talk to the lanky awkward bundle of nerves? Maybe. But I never would have guessed that meeting Dr. Spencer Reid would change my life forever.

This is the start and please tell me if I should continue…
