Explanation (like you need one): I was listening to Hair when I realized how the basic gist of the songs corresponded with some stuff I've been wanting to write. So, I settled on writing a little ficlet for each of Hair's glorious songs. Enjoy!

The rain drizzled lazily overhead as Lily Evans crammed the last of her school things into her trunk. "I hope I got everything." She slowly began to haul the large trunk down the stairs. Once she had reached the landing she decided she might as well haul her trunk a bit closer to the door and go to breakfast. Her family were sitting around the table talking animatedly to one another. When she entered they all turned and greeted her. That is, all of them except her sister. She had been more hostile towards Lily in the days since she received her Hogwarts letter. Lily figured she was jealous, and it would pass, so she didn't worry.
Soon the four of them were in the car driving through the down pour to King's Cross Station, across town. Lily really couldn't speak. She could only imagine what it was going to be like. She was worried and excited and terrified all at the same time, but all those feelings melted into one another and rested at the bottom of her stomach as contentment. She wasn't sure how this feeling got to her, but it was undeniably there.
Before she was ready for it. She was standing dazedly on platform nine and three quarters. The scarlet steam engine loomed invitingly in front of her. "Who am I to say no?" She bid her teary mother goodbye and boarded the train.
She had never felt so out of place in her entire life. She peaked through compartment windows looking for an available seat. She finally reached the very last compartment and spied an open seat. She knocked lightly and the laughter inside stopped. A short wispy looking boy with golden hair and eyes opened the door. "Hi. Is that seat taken." A boy in the corner with exceedingly disorderly hair and glasses shook his head no, so she put her trunk away with the help of the third and last boy in the compartment, a tall boy with long straight black hair and an irremovable grin. Soon after introductions were made and Lily knew Remus, James, and Sirius, the laughter reconvened.
Lily, while still nervous felt more at ease. She had the feeling anyone does when embarking on an great adventure. She felt big things were about to happen to her, cosmic things, life changing things, and it all started here, in this compartment on the magical train destined for a magical place. It started here, with these three laughing boys.
So, this is what you can pretty much expect for the long run. Short stories about our favorite marauders.
