"Hello?" I answer the phone groggily, not even really comprehending I do so.

"Sorry, I'm waking you up so late..."

I reach over to my bedside table and grab my glasses. The green numbers of my digital clock tell me it's a little after 3:30 am. "Don't worry about it," I mumble, "I've only been a sleep for a couple of hours."

She's quiet for a second, then sighs. "I need you to come here."

I sit up in bed and find that I had fallen asleep in my clothes. "What's wrong?" Every time Zita calls me, I worry.

I worry that Zim has taken her hostage, is testing on her or something horrible to that effect. Every time I see her name on my cell phone screen. Usually, it's when I'm awake and at the ready to jump to her side, making sure I can protect her properly. Not that he's ever tried anything.

I've had to make sure that being with her doesn't cut into my Zim time. I have to keep him entertained, if I want Earth to be safe… If I want iher/i to be safe.

"Nothing. I'm just… sitting here." She's quiet and everything around her is quiet, I can tell. But I know she's not at home. I quickly jump out of bed and grab my bag.

"Where are you?" Already half way to my car and I have no idea where I need to go.

"At the park."

"Alone?"

She giggles and I feel a little better, if not sick. "Yeah. I snuck out earlier and someone set the alarm at our house. If I go home now, everyone will wake up."

I'm already out of my driveway and heading there. "Stay on the phone with me. I need to know that you're ok until I get there."

"Paranoid as ever, I see."

"What are you doing sneaking out so late?" I try to hide the worry in my voice, "What if…"

"What if? What if nothing, Dib. Nothing's going to happen."

I pulled onto the side of the road. I could see her small form sitting on a bench in the center of the park. "I'm here."

She hangs up without saying goodbye and once again I'm left worried that something's wrong.

But she gets in my car and slams the door shut, closing her eyes. "I'll just sleep on your couch, if that's alright."

"Fine." I start driving, trying not to look at her. She's so pretty sitting there as street lamps pass by, lighting up her face for brief seconds at a time. I manage to keep my eyes on the road for the few minutes it takes to go home.

Review for an update? I've never written this pairing before, so I don't know if anyone likes it. xD
