When the Master's Away, the Cubs Will...Pay?
"So, how are things going, Fran?" RJ asked his employee and former customer.
"Not good. Well, better then they were before. But still hectic," Jungle Karma Pizza's bespectacled emplyee answered.
"What happened?"
"Casey split up the responsibilities between himself, Theo, and Lily and when I left-"
"When you left?"
"Yeah, well see I quit, but then they called me back to apologize for everything that happened and-"
"Breathe, Fran."
"Right. And then after they apologized, Casey wouldn't give me the chance to speak and then Casey gave me a raise-"
"A raise?"
"Yeah, he doubled my salary, and then Lily started to question why he was doubling my salary and then he tripled it."
"So, now you're making more than the 9.50 an hour I was paying you?"
"Uh-huh."
"Wow. Casey's really gonna have to work hard to pay your raise. Okay. Well, I'll be back later today."
"Okay, RJ. See you then." With that, Fran hung up the phone and waited for her friends to get back from where ever it was that they had gone.
Three hours later...
"I didn't think you had it in you. I guess I was wrong."
"Don't be too hard on yourself, RJ. Now you know, you can always leave me in charge."
"Excellent! 'Cause it'll take a long time to pay off the raise you gave Fran."
Casey looked at his master and boss, barely hearing Fran's "Ka-ching" as the Pai Zhuq master headed for the loft. How did RJ know that he had given Fran a raise? Fran smirked; the cub would never know.
