"Teddy, honey, are you ready? Harry and the others will be here soon!"

Teddy started from his bed, where he had been engrossed in his copy of Quiddich Through the Ages and called out "yes!" before rushing around to finish getting dressed.

It was coming up to eleven o'clock and today was the day that he would be going to Diagon Alley to purchase his things for Hogwarts. He had received his letter a few weeks ago and his grandmother had been so happy for him that she immediately apparated them to the Potter's house to tell them of the news.

"Teddy! Hurry! They're here!"

"Alright Grandma! I'm coming!" Teddy hopped about trying to put his left shoe on while still trying to grab his Hogwarts letter." Once he'd managed to get his shoe on, it did up automatically; a rare outburst of magic that had been happening since he was young. He was looking forward to using magic to make his life easier and on a more regular basis. These outbursts had been disastrous in some cases.

"There you are! Are you all set? Have you got your key?" Harry asked him as he entered the room.

"I've got it here, Harry. He'd have lost it otherwise." Andromeda handed Harry Teddy's Gringott's key and hugged Teddy goodbye. "Now don't forget to behave, and have fun."

"I won't, Grandma, I promise." Teddy's voice was muffled from the embrace.

"Come on then, let's go. Ginny and the others are outside." Harry gestured to the door. "Mrs Tonks, nice to see you, as always."

"And you, Harry dear." She pulled him into a hug too, while whispering into his ear: "Treat him for me, will you? I'll pay you when you drop him off later."

She let go and Harry nodded in reply before leaving the house to join Ginny and Hermione, who were greeting Teddy with hugs and kisses.

"Hermione, would you like to do the honours this time?" Harry asked her as he approached them.

"If you insist."

They held hands and apparated to The Leaky Cauldron.
