Blue eyes, magnified by the sun as they watched over the darkened landscape. How odd it seemed. The war itself was over, but the decay and- what was the word he was looking for? Loneliness? That was it. Lonliness, how they lingered on the edge of his mind. It had changed him, the war, the losses, but more so his inability to save those he cared for most. What good was he to the survivors? Sure, they hailed him as a hero as they mourned for their loved ones. They had thanked him as they drunk themselves into mind-numbing stupors. Their words were were of nothing but respect, but their eyes, those damned eyes. They told the story unspoken, the anger, the bitterness, and that dreaded concept- lonliness. He knew that they didn't necessarily blame him for it, but the thoughts were still there "Why couldn't you end it sooner? Why did they have to die? Why didnt you save them Naruto?!"

Naruto woke with a start. His alarm restlessly screaming at him that it was 4:20am, and he had things he needed to do. Sliding out of bed, he slipped on his daily attire. He had changed his normal state of orange into something more suitable for his new standing. He wore a modest set of blake ninja garmets with an ankle length trench coat sporting a single symbol made of several- That of the allied shinobi forces.

He slid open the door of his appartment and made his way to the hyuga estate. This had turned into a daily routine for him, this day marked a year that he had started to oversee her training. It started three days after he took sasuke's life in the 4th Ninja war. Oversee? He was overseeing it all right, hell, who was he kidding? He was spying, keeping tabs, trying to make sure nothing went wrong, or at least, that he wouldn't lose her as well. Naruto kept to the darker depths of the shadows as he settled in for the next hour. Her session was just starting and she had just finished with her normal warm up. Then she began to dance.

Dancing- there he goes again, an understatment. She moved with fluidity of a stream untouched by the more deceptive forces of nature. Her grace only matched by her ability to keep into the rhythm of the noises around her. To any other, she was dancing in the moonlight, to him, she was unmistakenly fighting a war, her opponents were in front of and behind her, and she their bane. Her hands started to glow into a cool blue, naruto had been surprised the first moment he saw this. He had never taught her the rasengan, but she had learned after watching him for so many years, and turned it into her most decisive weapon.

Her body began to speed up, hands snaking back and forth as her legs kept her in solid motion. She began to sweat as she pivoted on her right foot, bringing her left leg and hand down in one motion, then changing pivot points to her left side to complete the same motion. One hour. She was drenched in sweat, this routine came at a heft chakra cost. It took all of her concentration to keep the rasengan active for an hour, whilst keeping her body in never ending motion. It was worth it though, the first time she tried it lasted only for about a minute. She had come quite a ways since then. A branch snapped, alerting her eyes to the shadows where naruto had been waiting moments before, her eyes saw nothing however, his shadow had already fled. Hinata looked up to the moon and smiled. She knew he was hurting, but he had grown to care for her in a way she could only have hoped. It was just to bad that for the moment he was still stuck in the darkness. "I'll find a way to bring you out of the dark naruto.." She headed inside to change for the day.
