Down a Notch

Greetings, Digi fans. The fic you are about to read is NOT for fans of Taito Yaoi. Now, I warn you , I'm not the biggest fan of Taito Yaoi, so you have been warned. There is small bits of yaoi to follow, so be careful. On with the fic.

Yamato "Matt" Ishida lay on his bed, pondering the happenings of a few days ago.

Flashback

Taichi "Tai" Kamiya looked Matt dead in the eyes. They had been dating in secret like this since their return from the digi-world, and had admitted a strong love for the other. "Let's get down to it." Tai said smirking. Matt returned the smirk, as they shared another passionate kiss.

End Flashback

To Matt, at the time, these experiences were a piece of heaven. But now they felt wrong to him. "Why?" He asked himself. "Why do I feel this is wrong?" Matt's mind drifted, as the thoughts of Tai, and their dates. It all seemed wrong now. Matt had thought he loved Tai, but now he felt different. "We have to talk." Matt thought, getting off his bed, and heading to the phone.

Tai was watching his favorite show, Kari asleep on his shoulders, when the phone rang. Careful not to wake Kari, Tai walked up to the phone. "Hello, Kamiya residence, Tai speaking." Matt stood, listening to Tai. "Tai, it's Matt." Matt spoke in his usual, cool manner."Matt? hey, what's up?" Tai asked, excitedly. "Tai, meet me at Heighton view Terrace park, tonight. 10:00" Tai was confused, but agreed."OK!" he said.

That night, Tai biked silently over to Heighton View Terrace park, and just in time. He saw Matt, standing casually, hands in his pockets. "Tai, I'm glad you're here." Matt spoke silently. "So, what's up, Matt?" Tai asked, a fiendish smile on his face. "It's not what you think, Tai." Matt said, holding his hand up to stop Tai. "It's over." Matt spoke.

"W-w-what do you mean?" Tai asked, afraid of the answer. "I think we weren't meant to love, but to be friends. I can't LOVE you,Tai. It feels wrong. But we can still be friends." Tai smiled, understanding what Matt meant. Matt reached for Tai's hand, and gave it a firm shake.
