A/N: I've had a few RWBY story ideas bouncing around my head so I after getting some encouragement from a friend of mine I decided to finally get my feet wet.

We begin this tale in the abode of a young man who goes by the name of Sulfur. He's of above average height, has a build that suggests he is fairly accustomed to physical labor, and has jet black hair. Sulfur's a smartly dressed individual for someone who spends quite a bit of his free time tinkering, like he is now on a sword slightly larger than he is with a center that resembles the inner workings of a clock. Now-

Crash!

Oh, that sounds like the beginning of the plot. I'll see myself out for now then.

Sulfur

I clicked my tongue before slipping my bag onto my shoulder and started making my way up the stairs "If this is another beowolf that snuck into the city just to break my windows-"

Reaching the top of the stairs I saw my windows broken, again, but instead of a smug looking beowolf, the culprit seemed to be a girl that looks like she came out of a fairy tale, and no, while she does look cute, that wasn't meant to be a reference to her level of attractiveness. That being said I responded as any reasonable person would.

"Uh, can I help you?" Well most reasonable people that know how it feels to be in terrible weather anyway. I mean given how wet it was outside I wouldn't have put it past myself to force my way into somewhere drier let alone the one on the ground shivering.

"c-c-can I stay h-here for n-now?" she stuttered out, making me think of a soaked kitten meowing pitifully.

"Sure," I responded, "are you going to need help getting up?" Now I could have just tossed her out rather easily so I could go back to enjoying my alone time, buuut preference for solitude or no I try not to be an asshole.

She shook her head and slowly picked herself up off the ground.

"Alright then there should be some towels in the bathroom you can use," I pointed down the hall, "last door on the left, and, unless you want a dirty towel, you should avoid the blue one."

The girl slowly started making her way down the hall.

Taking advantage of my regained isolation I stuck my head out of the broken windows to see if there was anyone out there, which while a prudent idea in my head, turned out to be a useless endeavor in practice seeing as the rain was so dense I couldn't even see the road that was two steps away. So, deciding I had enough of a shower, I pulled my head back inside, tapped my hand on the glass scattered across my floor and then on the window sills causing the shards to seemingly melt and flow back into the windows and then harden once more. "I really need to get around to reinforcing these things."

The umpteenth repair of those windows finished I decided to think of what I'll need to make them stronger…when I heard a small 'thud', causing me to turn around and see the girl who broke my windows passed out in the middle of the hallway.

"In hindsight, I really should have walked her to the bathroom."
