Rain.

Of course.

Even the heavens knew how tragic his life has become. One day, he's a youngest son of the Uchiha Clan Head. The next, he's the sole survivor of the Uchiha Clan Massacre. Life was funny like that. Just after his father showed affection to Sasuke, just after he begins to feel his self-worth and pride, it takes it all away.

Now all there is left is anger and sorrow.

How could Itachi do this? To test his "capacity"? There was no way that was true, but what other reason could he have? None could come to Sasuke's mind, but then again, his head was still spinning from the events.

He exited the Uchiha Corner.

She stood there right outside by the tree, her bright red hair stood out even against her loud yellow umbrella. He walked up to her, but kept an arm's length from her.

"You'll catch a cold if you stand in the rain any longer."

He nodded.

"Naruto is already worried about you. Getting sick is going to make him mother you like Minato does to him."

He nodded again.

Sasuke flinched when she crouched down and hugged him. What was she-?

"You're going to be living with us from now on. It's OK."

"I-I'm fine!" His faced redden, whether it was from a blush or the tears forming, he couldn't tell. But he did know he didn't need her pity.

Kushina pulled him closer. "I know what it's like to have everything you love taken from you. Especially at a young age."

"No you don't," he whispered.

"I watched as my mother and older brother were killed."

He flinched again. He sniffled, still fighting the tears. "What did you do?"

Kushina let Sasuke go. She placed a hand on his cheek, forcing him to look her in the eyes. She had such the saddest smile.

"I cried."

And he did too.
