Wow, it's been awhile since I came up with something. And this one was at a speech tournament, just like the last one. Must be something in the food.

'This is it,' Suzaku thought. 'The last day.' Swallowing his anxiety, he made his appearance to free the world of 'Demon Emperor Lelouch'. He could see his friend's look of false surprise even from so far away. In a moment, he had closed the distance, dashing through the rain of bullets, around the Knightmares, past Jeremiah and onto the parade float. He paused for a moment to take in Nunnally's presence, the torn dress and shackles making her appear even weaker, her lilac eyes darkened in despair. And then the moment was over and Suzaku was standing before Lelouch and his sword was ready and it was over. The blade slid into its target like a hot knife through butter. For a few seconds, Suzaku held himself there, unable to move his arm, too focused on where the blade's point had exited his friend and ruler. He heard out Lelouch's final orders for him, for him to live on and rule this world for Nunnaly, for him to give up his life and emotions in favor of being Zero forever. As he pulled out the sword from Lelouch's too-yielding flesh, the crowd he had forgotten about began to cheer.

"Zero, Zero, Zero!" Suzaku dimly recalled that that was to be his name now, his life now. And what a fitting name for such a life, he thought. Without his best friend, without Euphie, his life really was zero. Tears wet his cheeks, tears nobody would ever see behind Zero's mask. In response to the crowd's cries, he turned to face them and tried to look heroic, tried to look like his world hadn't just been destroyed in an instant. Only two sounds registered over the sound of Suzaku's quickened heartbeat: The crowd cheering for the death of their once-ruler, and Nunnally's screams for her brother. He jumped down to her side, trying to comfort the young girl without touching her. His hands were too stained with blood; he could never taint her world with such horrible deeds. Looking up to the sky, Suzaku noticed the first drops of a sun shower start to land on his mask. Above the falling water, a rainbow shone in the sun's rays, and Suzaku wanted nothing more in that moment than to have Lelouch back and go back to the days when they were children.

I'm considering making a series of fics based on different character's thoughts during key points in the series...What do you people think?
