This is for all of you who have a newfound hatred of Dawn after last night.

"This is my house too" Dawn kissed her sister.

Buffy looked at the faces of all her so-called friends. The people she had loved and trusted. They were all turning their backs on her. Willow, Xander, Giles, and Dawn. Just thinking about it was making her mad.

"Excuse me, your house. You weren't even a person four years ago. You are nothing, but memories the Monks put into our heads so I'd protect you and if memory serves me right I died saving you. I risked the safety of the universe for a person I was tricked into loving." Buffy snapped

"Buffy," Willow soothed.

"Will, don't get me started on you. You didn't have the guts to tell Xander you liked him when I met you. Last year you almost ended the world, because your girlfriend died and you were on a magic binge. So okay yeah, maybe I've made mistakes in the past. Maybe I do charge in recklessly, but I do it to save the world. I do it to protect the people I care about. But I guess there aren't any people I care about anymore."

"Maybe we're just tired of your kind of protecting." Xander looked up with his one eye. "Let's face it Buffy you've put us in more danger then protection."

"Well maybe if people weren't summoning Singing Demons or doing love spells." Buffy retorted, "Don't make it sound like I'm the only one in this room that has ever made any mistakes Xander. I can name two called Cordy and Anya that you dated."

"Hey," Anya glared from her corner.

"And now" Buffy continued. "You're all going to kick me out, the person who has always come through and died twice to save you. And if that wasn't bad enough you're replacing me with my most hated enemy."

"Really Buffy, this is not a popularity contest." Giles rubbed his glasses. "This is about who has a level head and can lead in a responsible manner. Faith can"

"Murder people, sleep with my boyfriend, take the girls drinking and dancing, and just be a pain in general." Buffy finished for Giles. "Does anyone besides me even remember that she was helping the Mayor with the Ascension?"

"I was in jail, B," Faith defended herself, "I'm not perfect either, but I'm trying to reform. I'm trying to be like."

"Like who Faith?" Buffy glared at her, "Like your savior Angel, the one person who could connect with you."

"Could we not bring him up?" Faith asked, "Because every time he gets brought into a conversation you get this glaring thing happening in your eyes like now and nothing ever has happened between Angel and me. Okay I slept with Riley, I admit that, but I am not going to be blamed because I understand Angel better than you do." Faith sighed. "I was going to say I'm trying to be like you, B. Listen everybody, I think B is right, it's been known to happen from time to time, now there probably is something at the Vineyard, but we can't go in blazing like last time, we need to work together, starting with a little recon. B, you up for it?"

"Thanks Faith" Buffy began as they walked outside. "It means a lot that you defended me in there. I was losing support fast."

"No problem B," Faith smiled, "Besides, you would have kicked us all out before you ever gave up the old place."
