I solemnly swear that I am up to no good…

He was considered to be the quieter twin while Fred was more outgoing but that had been the pact they had made when they were younger. Fred would be more openly outgoing and do all the obvious pranks so George could do all the undercover pranks and not get caught.

It had been a brilliant plan and still was.

It had been much easier with the Marauders Map.

The Marauders.

They had been pranking geniuses. They were like their Fred and George's role models despite not knowing their true identity.

They had gained a reputation by the time First Year had ended. Their mother had not been pleased but had accepted it once they had received their scores. She had scolded Fred for dragging George into his pranking as George had gotten caught once during one of the pranks they had not wanted to be so well known to be done by them. Everyone had simply blamed Fred though. That had been until George had been stupid enough to get caught again and they had both landed in detention.

They had been assigned detention with Filch that time. He had made them rewrite the detentions of the old students as the ink had begun to fade.

They had realized who the Marauders truly were from one of the most recent detention cards as Filch tended to make the cards as detailed as possible and had mentioned confiscating a piece of parchment. They had searched for the Marauder's names ever since.

They had tried to remember as much as possible after those detention sessions and made sure to get as many detentions as possible. Afterwards they looked through all the notes they had made and found ways to improve their own pranks. They had found many pranks that had worked and also found many ways to evade the professors after a bit of investigation.

It was pure genius.

Fred and George had wished that they could have taken credit for something as amazing as the Marauders Map or even a large part of their pranks but that would not be completely fair to the Marauders.

When they had seen Harry Potter come to Hogwarts, they had not only been excited about meeting the Boy-Who-Lived but also the only child of any of the Marauders. They had wanted to know if he had inherited his father's pranking abilities.

They had been vaguely disappointed at first but at the end of the year, he had proved that he did indeed have the creative genius of his father but had just not been introduced to the wonderful world of Pranking just yet. They had indeed also harbored hope for their smallest brother, Ron, as well after that chess match that everyone knew so much yet so little about.

News of what had happened deep within the school was such a secret that everyone had known of it within hours. Harry had ended up in the hospital wing of course so they were unable to question him on how he had managed to make Quirrel disappear as he had for the stuttering man had never been seen again.

Through all that, the newly christened Golden Trio and the Longbottom Heir had managed to help Gryffindor nick the House Cup from Slytherin for the first time in six years. They had stopped Slytherin's win streak in its tracks and that had been something worth celebrating.

They had decided that day to give Harry the Marauder's Map when he needed it. It was supposed to be part of his inheritance anyway.
