Her body hurt, every part of her screamed with pain. She could barely move, the blood was falling with each step. She dropped her gun, she didn't need it anymore. She reached the end of the platform, glanced back at the child like image of the catalyst then turned to face the beam of light that was in front of her. She pulled all of her remaining strength the last of her energy and took her last great risk, she leapt in.
Her body was on fire, everything stung she felt small pricks all over her flesh like tiny daggers. She focused, she thought back over everything, if it was over she wanted to go thinking of all those she would leave behind.
She saw Anderson, the man that had always looked out for her, trusted her, and advised her. He had been the father she had never known.
Mordin, the scientist, the mad man, the killer, the savior of the Krogan. She could still hear his song in her head.
Joker, Garrus, Tali. They had been with her through it all, never left her, never doubted her. They would be fine, they were strong, they were survivors.
Kaidan. She had loved him, he had loved her. Even apart they had still been important to each other. Though she had taken him back in the end, when she knew he needed her and when she needed someone, it had never been the same as it was before. She hoped he would find someone who could give him the real thing.
She felt her body begin to tear, to disappear, her mind was screaming, but there was one more face she had to see, one more person she wanted to think of before it was over.
The man she loved, the man to whom she had given her heart entirely. The one who had been taken from her, she just wanted to see his face one more time. But her mind was screaming out, she was fading away, the light of the beam was growing brighter. And then there was nothing, brightness and silence.
She was floating, floating without a body, in a white silent room. She was growing, expanding, her body was coming back, she was floating down. Her feet touched the ground, it was wet. She looked down her feet were bare and she wore a long white dress. The sound slowly came to her, water, wind, waves. She looked up, she saw a sunset, a sky filled with blues, purples, oranges, and pinks. Before her was an ocean, a beautiful ocean. She stood in the sand of a beach, her toes touching the water as it retracted back out to the ocean. She found a small sea shell at her feet; she reached for it and held it, thinking of Mordin. She wondered if he had come here when it was over, if he had studied this shell. Was this where all who died went? Had Ashley walked this beach? Had Anderson? Had-
"You have crossed the sea."
Her heart jumped. The voice, the words. She spun and her eyes filled with tears as she saw his green and red skin, his black eyes. He opened his arms to her.
"Siha."
She ran to him, left behind all regret, all pain and sadness. Those who still lived would live. It was her turn to be at peace.
