Thomas ran for the Deadheads after the Doors slammed shut for the night. By letting Ben get Banished, he'd just blown what little chance he'd had with Gally, who already hated him.

The tears streamed down his cheeks as he slumped against a wall and sat down on the grass. For reasons unknown, he really liked Gally. He was mean, but there was something about that snarky attitude and those bright green eyes...

He shook his head. Gally would never like him now, so it would be better for him just to get that dream out of his head.

"Thomas?" a familiar voice called. He looked up, surprised to see Gally standing in front of him.

Thomas held his hands up in surrender before the other boy could say anything. "I didn't mean to-" he started.

But Gally interrupted him. "It's not your fault, Thomas."

The other boy gawked at him, stunned. "But...I thought you hated me," he said.

"Hate you? No." Gally sat down beside him, close enough that it made Thomas nervous. "I'm jealous of you."

"What?" Thomas was awestruck. "Why? You're the Keeper of the Builders!"

Gally shook his head. "That's not the most important thing ever," he scoffed. "You're everything I'm not, Thomas. Kind, selfless, compassionate, sweet, handsome..." Gally blushed as he seemed to realize what he said.

Thomas smiled a little. "I wouldn't put that last one past you."

Those green eyes widened, and before Thomas could say anything more, Gally leaned in and brushed his lips softly against Thomas's. The other boy gasped, clutching Gally's shirt as the Keeper's hands ran through his hair. Gally's lips were soft and warm, and Thomas was quickly getting lost in the kiss.

Gally was the one to break the kiss. For the first time since Thomas met him, he looked a little embarrassed. "You're a good guy, Thomas," he said. "Ben's death isn't your fault."

Thomas nodded as Gally rested his head on his shoulder. "How is it that two people who are so different could be together?"

Gally nuzzled his neck. "Opposites attract, I guess."
