Sasuke-kun? Nee kikoe masu ka?

Just how long have we been walking? I don't really care. In fact, I couldn't remember caring at all evr since I met him. His raven-hair, his soulful yet sad eyes, that voice I seldom hear... but when I do...

Sasuke-kun... dakishimitai ni.

But somehow that seems impossible. Why won't he let me?

These questions... they keep racing in my head. Funny, I keep asking them when no one really knows the answers.

I doubled my pace to catch up to Sasuke. He tends to walk like he's not with anyone. And in a way... I guess hecould say that. Who am I to him anyway?

I didn't even bother to strike a conversation. Once I say something, he'll probably ignore me. Or if I'm lucky, he'll say two words. Then that's it.

The defeaning silence will surface once again.

Nee, Sasuke-kun... do you know sometimes I envy Naruto?

They keep fighting all the time. They keep yelling at each other. But that's how they bond. That's how they interact. That's how they prove that they're strong. That's why they're close friends, even if he doesn't know it, or admit it.

Where as I cannot even call myself strong. I'm always one step behind. I'm always the one they protect. The one who causes trouble because of weakness. I couldn't even protect him when I had the chance to.

Hey... what the? Raindrops?

All of a sudden I see him far away under a big leafy tree for temporary refuge from the rain.

"Sakura. Over here." he said as he sat down.

I ran towards him, but I didn't even dare to sit beside him. He might get irritated.

We've been sitting there for sometime, doing nothing but staring at the rain, waiting for it to stop. And after a few minutes, it did.

I felt sorry though. Even if we weren't doing anything, it felt nice to be beside him.

Even when we train, or fight, or barely escape from death... as long as I was near him. It was okay.

I stood up, brushed off some grass from my clothes and said, "Sasuke..."

He looked at me. "What?"

"I... I better be going now. It's getting kind of late."

He just looked away, and I took that as a 'Go ahead.' So I walked away... when all of a sudden he did the strangest thing.

"Hey." he said.

He spoke to me.

I looked back. "Yes?"

"I'll walk you home. It's dangerous for you to walk alone in the woods."

Did I hear right? Was he concerned? Was that really Sasuke?

Who cares?

"Uhm, okay... thanks."

We arrived at town and decided to grab a bite to eat before we go home, so we stopped by a ramen cart and ordered something.

As we ate, it drizzled again.

"What's with the weather today?" I asked.

Sasuke didn't respond. Maybe I was too caught up by the sudden gesture of kindness he had shown.

"Hey Sakura." he said suddenly.

"Mm?" I looked at him as I ate the fishcake off my ramen.

"You wanna go home yet?"

"Uh... no, not really."

"Would you mind staying with me?"

"Eh?"

"I just don't feel like being alone today." he said... blushing?

I smiled, from the bottom of my heart.

"Of course I'll stay with you."

I always have.
