Thanks to FirstBear777 and Lapollocamper51 for reviewing Annabeth. Also thanks to the moon fangirl for reviewing Not Like Them. Anyway, enjoy!
1 September, 1971:
'Come, children. We don't want to be late." Walburga Black stared coldly down at her eleven-year-old son before smiling at his younger brother. The family of four discreetly passed through the entrance to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters and then emerged on the other side.
Walburga sneered at another family who were obviously muggle. One of the daughters was frowning at everything in sight, while the other was bouncing on the balls of her feet. Ten galleons the redhead is the witch, thought Sirius with a grin. It was nearly eleven. The train would be leaving soon.
"Sirius," said Walburga. "You'd better get Slytherin. You're the heir to the family. We expect great things from you. This is your chance to prove you're worthy of the family name."
"Yes, mother," said Sirius obediently. I will not be like my family. I hate them. All of them. But he couldn't help but ask, somewhat mockingly: "What if I'm put in Gryffindor?"
He should have seen the slap coming.
"Then you'd best hope they let you stay for christmas break." Walburga paused to send a glare shooting towards another muggle family. "Go now."
And Sirius did, climbing onto the train. He didn't look back.
"Hi, I'm James."
"I'm Sirius. Nice to meet you."
I won't be like them.
I swear it.
"GRYFFINDOR!"
1 September 2017:
"Slytherin! Slytherin!" teased James. "Albus the Slytherin! Ha ha!"
"Kids, come on!" said Ginny. "James, give it a rest."
"I won't! I won't!" Insisted Albus. I can't be in Slytherin!
James, then Albus and Harry, and Lily and Ginny walked through the barrier to Platform Nine and Three Quarters. Harry smiled at a muggleborn family, stopping to give them directions. Albus and the other first-year looked awkwardly at each other, and the Potters finally moved away.
"Dad," said Albus, a few minutes later when they were saying goodbye, "what if I'm put in Slytherin?"
"Then Slytherin House will have gain a wonderful student," comforted Harry gently. "Albus Severus, you were named for two headmasters of Hogwarts, and one of them was a Slytherin. He was the bravest man I ever knew. But if it matters that much to you, you can choose Gryffindor."
"Really?" That's great! I can finally be like the rest of the family! I can be brave! And tough! But a corner of Albus whispered: Would you really like that? In all honesty?
No.
With his cousin, Albus stepped on the train, off to Hogwarts.
"Hi, I'm Albus."
"I'm Scorpius."
I don't want to leave my new friend.
I want to be different.
"SLYTHERIN!"
I know the dialogue/events for my version of 19 Years Later (that's today!) aren't exactly the same as it is in the books, but I don't think it's too badly off. Albus might be OOC (compared to how he's portrayed in TCC) as well… I hope you liked it!
Please review!
