"Inuyasha no baka!" Kagome screamed. Inuyasha flattened his ears.
"Nani! All I did was digest every pack of ramen you had, and burped so loudly Shippo fainted. Why the hell should you get mad at me!" The hanyou pouted and looked down at the unconsious kitsune.
He had it coming. Inuyasha thought, turning his nose up from Shippo and faced Kagome.
"Why the hell should you get mad at me?" Kagome mimicked, also sticking up her nose. "Well, maybe it's because you're a no good, low down, filthy, disgusting, snotty, horrible pig!" Kagome yelled over his head.
"And you ate my ramen." Kagome finished. Then she froze.
In front of her was a suddenly sad, shaking hanyou. Inuyasha's eyes were cast down to the ground, his white locks hung carelessly on his shoulders. Kagome softened her gaze.
"Inuyasha…" Kagome bent down, trying to console the poor, broken down hanyou. She never knew it had hurt him so hard.
"Here, let me get you some of my homemade food. It'll make you feel better!" Kagome said soothingly, grabbing a dish of her homemade lunch box from Miroku's hands. Ignoring the monk's protests, she lifted it in front of Inuyasha's face.
Slowly, but solemnly, Inuyasha rose his head up. He spooned a mouthful of food into his mouth, tilting his mouth slightly so he could let the food drop down his throat. He chewed for a few moments and swallowed.
"Inuyasha?" Kagome said, timidly, tiptoeing up to the shaken up hanyou. He didn't make a sound.
Suddenly, Inuyasha stood up straight and took Kagome's hands in his. Kagome's eyes rose to meet his.
His eyes… they look so… meaningful. Kagome marvled at the sight.
Inuyasha gazed deeply into Kagome's eyes, wanting to say it, but not having to the heart to do it.
Kagome… please forgive me…Inuyasha silently prayed.
"Kagome…" Inuyasha spoke quietly, grasping Kagome's hands tighter.
"Hai?" Kagome answered, leaning forward to catch Inuyasha's words, the sound barely leaving his lips. Kagome shivered under his touch and looked up hopefully.
"I…" Inuyasha gulped.
This is it! Inuyasha told himself. I can do it!
"Your food… it tastes horrible." Inuyasha finally said.
Yes! Inuyasha mentally cheered. I said it! I did it, I—
Inuyasha stopped midway. Kagome had bent her head down, her bangs covering her chocolate brown eyes. Then she reached her hand up, carassing Inuyasha's face lovingly. Inuyasha almost melted, purring slightly and leaning into her touch.
"Inuyasha…" Kagome said, speaking in a low, and soft voice. Inuyasha nodded, allowing her to continue.
"OSUWARI!"
