'Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.
So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.
Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.'
Captain James T. Kirk looked up at his first officer from where he was kneeling on the floor of his quarter, hands on Spock's knees. "I really do appreciate you. I couldn't think of a better way to show you because my mom used to play this song alot when I was younger, and it always..." Kirk trailed off, seeming unsure of how to continue.
Spock watched with amusement as his Kirk flailed his hands around trying to explain himself. Spock smirked slightly and looked down at Kirk and said, "Captain, that was- as you humans say- incredibly cheesy." His hands inched closer to where Kirk's had come back to settle on his knees, unsure if the signals he was getting were accurate.
Kirk pulled his hands back into his body defensively. He looked wounded as he started to stand up and turn away. "I see..."
Spock grabbed Kirk's hands and pulled him forward and onto his lap. Ignoring Kirk's surprised look and attempts to free his hands, Spock said "Captain, you didn't let me finish." He maneuvered his hands against Kirk's so that their second and third fingers were just barely touching. "I appreciate the effort, but it was wholly unnecessary. I all ready knew how you felt." Spock tilted his head forward and lightly brushed against Kirk's mouth with his own. And it was perfect.
So...When Kirk is kneeling, it isn't "spread your legs, slurp slurp slurp", it was more seiza, or as us Western's know it, kneeling.
