Searching

The night is dark, and the rain has soaked through the girl's jacket. She finds a relatively quiet and unpopulated alley and sits against the dilapidated brick wall. She pulls off her now ratty wig and glares at the soggy clump of what was once her mother's hair. She lets out a sigh and attempts to smooth the wig back into shape.
I don't know why I bother, she thinks, flipping the wig back on. It has never looked natural and it never will. She stands back up, brushing the grit from the alley off of her jeans. She pulls the hood of her jacket up and continues walking down the alley.
She has been walking the deserted streets of the city for the past three weeks, ever since... But she wasn't going to think of that. For one things, it was far too painful. And another, it was over. It happened. And she needs to move on.
As she passes the people of the street, she glances in their faces hopefully, trying to find the one person she has ever met who isn't dead or completely psychotic.
After two more hours of searching, she gives up and turns to head home. The house will be empty, and the fhostly portraits of her mother will look down on her, blaming her for all that happened. But, at least it is a place to go. Asking the Largos for help would lead to nothing but trouble, and her father would have died in vain.
As she reaches the graveyard near her house, she pauses, thinking she hears something. She turns and grins at the all-too-familiar man running after her.
"Hey Kid! Wait up!"

A/N: Well, this certainly looked a LOT longer on notebook paper...
This is my first REPO! fanfic, and the first oneshot I've ever written. I'm rather pleased that the two coincided.
This was actually written for an assignment in my Language Arts class. We were supposed to use three simple present verbs and three present perfect verbs and write a paragraph. And, me being me, it turned into a REPO! oneshot. *shrugs* Typical... (Got bonus points for making it have a plot XD Best Language Arts teacher EVER)
So... how'd I do? Leave a review. If you liked it, tell me! I might end up writing more. If you didn't, tell me how I can do better! There's always room for improvement ;)
