"Nya~ Nya~," Fai said happily to the cat in front of him, scratching behind the cats ears.
The cat purred and turned its face upwards giving Fai a cheerful, Nya!~," in return.
Grinning, Fai reached over and tugged on Kurogane's sleeve. "Ne ne, Kuro-daddy, this kitty likes me!" he cheered.
Kurogane turned to face the bubbly blond with half a mind to hit the stupid grin off his face. "You don't know where that's been, leave it alone," he said.
His lower lip puffing out, Fai looked up at him with his big blue eyes pleading. "But Kuro-sama…" he whined.
"Leave it alone," Kurogane repeated firmly.
Glaring slightly, Fai reached down to cuddle the cat to his chest. "I don't care what you say I'm keeping it," he finalized.
Kurogane rolled his eyes. "Oh for heaven's sake, it probably has rabies," he said. "Or a … a mad cat disease or something."
Turning his face away from Kurogane, Fai hid a grin. Reaching down, Fai nipped his fingers on the tip of the poor cat's tail, who yelped and bit Fai's lower lip. Giving a loud shriek, Fai dropped the cat who promptly dashed off into the bushes. "Ow!"
Kurogane nearly dropped the groceries he was holding as he pivoted towards Fai. "You okay?" he asked concerned.
Eyes watering, Fai nodded. "I guess Neko-chan doesn't like me after all," he said around his fingers cradling his lip.
Sighing, Kurogane grabbed Fai's elbow and steered him to a nearby park bench. "Here, let me see it," he said gruffly, setting down the bag he carried in his other hand, and grabbed Fai's chin with it.
Fai froze, surprised by the gentle way Kurogane cradled his face and the way his thumb brushed over his lip. "K-Kuro-puu?" he whispered, a red tint appearing on his face as Kurogane's thumb nearly dipped into his mouth.
"Stay here," Kurogane said shortly, and went off out of sight, leaving Fai on the bench confused. Returning a few minutes later, he grabbed Fai's chin again, and took out of the small bag he brought back with him, a bottle of ointment. "Stay still," he said, before spreading a small amount of the small cut.
Hissing, Fai gripped Kurogane's forearm as he grimaced in pain. He whimpered, squeezing his eyes shut tight against the sharp burst of pain that quickly faded. "Thanks," he said gratefully as he opened his eyes.
Looking bashful all of a sudden, Kurogane reluctantly dropped his hand from cradling Fai's face. "Stop hurting yourself then," he said gruffly.
Grinning back at him, Fai leaned over and gave Kurogane a soft kiss on the check. "If I do, you'll always be there to make it better," he chirped, before standing up and grabbing one of the grocery bags. With a wink to Kurogane, he turned at started walking back to their home on this temporary world, trying to hide the blush on his face.
Staring blankly in the spot Fai had been sitting, Kurogane could feel his face burning and his check gently tingled where Fai's lips had been; he knew subconsciously that it wasn't from the medicine.
