[Silence].

Oh shoot, I was trying to sound professional, like a lawyer, but I failed. Maybe I should omit that second sentence for "future uses".

Author's Note: Something like a Shinigami's Golden Cup. It could be funny, but not really...It definitely has some analyzing in there, though. :)

Ichigo Kurosaki stared in shock. Kenpachi's chest was unscratched and Ichigo's hands were bleeding.

"Is that so hard to understand? When two spiritual beings collide, the side with weaker spiritual pressure will get hurt. Which means, in other words, compared to your sword that is highly concentrated for the purpose of killing, the spiritual pressure that I subconsciously release is much, much stronger" Kenpachi said grimly.

Ichigo blinked. And he blinked again.

"Kenpachi . . . Did you just give an explanation on spiritual pressure?"

"Yeah, what of it?" The Eleventh Division Captain grumbled.

". . ." Ichigo stared at him suspiciously.

"What?"

"This is coming from you. The one who loves to fight and have no care for anything not related to battle. The one who doesn't even know any kido," Ichigo deadpanned.

"Who cares? Can we just fight?" Zaraki raised his sword.

"See? You're the type to fight and not care about knowing anything like spiritual pressure."

"I don't care!" Zaraki snapped. "Can we just fight!"

"How can you even know that about spiritual pressure?" A confused look appeared on the orange-head boy.

"Look, not everything goes through one ear and out the other for me! NOW can I kill you?"

" . . . " Ichigo took the time to digest that. "So you're smarter than you look?"

"UGH! Do I have to attack you to end this conversation or will you finally take your stance?" The nameless sword swiped in the air with impatience.

"But why are you so smart and still have a mantra of fighting?" Ichigo insisted.

"Forget this, I'm leaving! I'm going to find someone else who's willing to fight." Zaraki ran off in search of a more resolved opponent.

And thus, Ichigo was left with his next question lingering on his tongue. He didn't have any scratch on him aside from his bleeding hands, though, so he was able to help Ganju and Hanataro rescue Rukia from the tower without meeting Byakuya.

Who knew stubbornness could get you so far?
