Author's Note:

Oran is a programming language used in the Pokemon world. Think of it sort of like Java.

Chapter 1

I sat at my desk, scrolling through lines of code on my computer. I had written an music player app for the Pokenav, and the computer wouldn't let me compile it due to an error which I was trying to locate.

I scrolled all the way to the end, to find the source of my pain:

void method AlbumArt(song title)

{

if (title has AlbumArt)

image.display(title);

else

image.display(" ") /Oran console: Missing semicolon

}

I groaned. For the fact that I was the only student in my class who was able to code such advanced apps in Oran, it was pretty pathetic that I screwed up on stuff like this. I added the semicolon to the end of the line and hit "Compile." A single line of green text appeared on my screen:

Program compiled, 0 errors

I shut down my computer and shook a black feathery lump on my bed. My Murkrow, Wuya, pecked at my hand, annoyed that I had woken her up from her nap.

"Murrr..." she cawed groggily.

"C'mon, girl, let's go for a walk."

Wuya stood up, and fluttered on to my shoulder, then stepped on top of my head. I laughed, and we headed out the door.

I walked to the Goldenrod Central Park, and sat on a bench, with Wuya still perched on my head. She cawed, and I opened my jacket. Wuya fluttered in, and I zipped it up, leaving Wuya's head sticking out the top, making me look like some sort of two headed monster. Wuya sort of cawed/purred contentedly, and I buried my face in her hat-plume of feathers. After sitting on the bench for a few minutes, we got up and started to walk around the park a little more.

"Hey, Corvus!" I kept walking, trying to ignore the burly baseball player who was now following me. Just as I started to leave the park, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

Too late.

I spun around to face my tormentor. "Corvus, my man!" he exclaimed. Brandon stuck out his hand for a high five in a show of mock friendship. I turned around and tried to walk away, but he grabbed my shoulder again. "Hey, why don't we have a Pokemon battle?"

I considered doing it, just to get him to leave me alone, but I realized that he could probably take Wuya out. "No thanks," I mumbled.

Wuya cawed angrily and jumped out of my jacket, fluttered directly above Brandon and took a crap right in his hair. While I wanted to laugh, I didn't, since Brandon was now grabbing my shirt, and yelling "So that's how it is, huh? Well, then how about this, kid?!" Brandon threw out a Pokeball, releasing an Electabuzz. He then pushed me aside, and I staggered to my feet. I sighed.

"Sweet Azelf…" I muttered.

Hey there! Entei of the Crowned Beasts here! If you liked the first chapter of Little Crow, you should read its 2 companion stories, Fragmented Soul and Bright Shadows. Each of those two stories show another plot that will connect with this one, another character that will meet Corvus! You see, we're doing a project called a Collaborative Pokemon Fanfiction, where three different writers tell different sides of a story. See our profile for more information!
