Reasons for Enigma

Disclaimer: Torchwood is owned by people more creative than I.

Just a poem I was inspired to write when thinking about a few things.

Once again I avoid that conversation

The one that leads me to temptation,

I cannot lay those lie again,

I cannot tell the truth.

Protected by armour bullet proof,

I know the flaws too well.

Cowering behind a different kind

of shield. I fear what you may see,

I fear what you may find.

I am not that man, I cannot be,

The hero that shines through.

Heroes have no secrets dark

I know this to be true.

Yet I am called again each time

That you do something wrong.

My answers are becoming parched

With each unfolding line.

Upon the dark I lurk and wait

To find you standing there,

You haunt me so, why can't you leave

My life is not your fate.

To recall the times gone past,

Would meant that it is real;

Abondoned within my tomb

And trapped. No hope of escape.

What went before is one and gone

I am that man no more. I beg you

not to pry again, that life is long lost.

My name is not Jack, It never was

I fear to tell you this,f or should

you see, the man behind

I know you would dismiss me
