It Hurts Me to Love You-Chapter 1
A/N: So this is an idea I've had for awhile now, I'm taking a darker route than I usually do in my stories. Read and Review =)
Bellatrix Black's long black curls cascaded past her shoulders and her heavily lidded eyes were rimmed with mascara and shimmering silver eye shadow. The little black dress hugged her body in an elegant, flattering manner. She smiled as she prepared for her Valentine's Dinner with Tom Riddle, whom she'd been in love with practically since she first met him in Potions class at Hogwarts 10 years ago. She admired her reflection in the mirror, grabbed her small black handbag and headed downstairs. "Where are you going, Bella?" her sister demanded.
"Out, Cissy. I'm meeting Tom for dinner, are you doing anything?"
"Well, I practically asked Sev to ask me, but you know how he is. So enthralled with Lilly Potter that he doesn't even notice me. Mother and Father have arranged for me to go out with Lucius Malfoy, his family is prominent," Narcissa sniffed. Her gray eyes looked downcast, however.
"Cheer up Cissy, Severus doesn't know what he's missing out on. Go out with Lucius, enjoy yourself for a change," Bellatrix instructed, laying a comforting hand on her sisters shoulder.
Tom was already sitting at the table in the far corner of the Leaky Cauldron. His dark hair was messy and he had baggy circles under his eyes. He seemed to be absent-mindedly fiddling with his wand. "What's on your mind, love?" she asked, attempting to reach across the table and take his hand in her own. He pulled away, looking revolted.
"Tom?"
"How many times do I have to tell you, it's Voldemort, damn it!" he shouted suddenly, slamming his fist down on the table, causing it to splinter.
"V...V...Voldemort, love, what's on your mind?" She asked as she gently stroked his forearm. He sighed and tossed her hand away. "my...my love, happy Valentine's day?" she offered.
"Get away from me." he said stonily.
"Are you alright? Did I hear you right?"
"Go away, Bellatrix," he repeated.
"Tom...I thought you loved me,"
"It's VOLDEMORT DAMNIT!" he bellowed, causing people at other tables to look up. Her eyes filled with tears.
"Love?"
"I don't believe in love," he hissed. "Stop crying," he snapped at Bellatrix and stood to leave the table. She leapt up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Please don't do this!" she pleaded.
"I've transcended the primal human need and want for love," he said with a sneer. He flung her off of him, looking repulsed, and stormed out of the restaurant, leaving a tear-streaked Bellatrix behind him. He never looked back.
