Cheung Wing-sing stared at the young child's face; sleeping. Ip Man's face was radiating happiness. This was his first child; a healthy daughter.
"What shall we call her?" Wing-sing asked quietly as she looked at their baby girl. Her body ached but her happiness was like a medicine that cured every illness.
"Shu," Ip said and then, gently, kissed the girl on her head.
"She'll be kind and gentle and grow into a hard working woman," he said.
The child woke up and started crying helplessly. Wing-sing looked at Ip Man and gave him a small smile.
