I wet a wash cloth, and wipe down the areas that still had skin. I was forced to do only sponge baths for a while. My mechanics were water proof, but underneath the skin they weren't. Until all the skin around where the cybernetics met my body closed over and healed, I was stuck with this method. I put on old blue-jeans and a long-sleeve shirt. I wore my motercycle gloves, with split knuckles, and no fingers on the glove design. I laced up my combat boots, and tugged my jeans over them. I then stood, and left my house. I lock the door, and tug the handle to make sure it stays shut. I then turn, and walk down the street silently. "Mr. Collins!" I turned, and saw a younger man running up toward me, holding a book. "Mr. Collins, I am a huge fan of yours." He said, smiling at me. I smile slightly, and chuckle softly.
"Thanks. Were you looking for an autograph?" I asked, and the young man nodded. I pulled a pen from my pocket, and hold my hand out for his copy of the book. He handed it over, and I signed the front cover. I give it back to him. "The sequal should be out by Augest." I said, watching the young man's face light up. He nodded, and ran off to continue whatever he was doing. I continue on my walk, my cybernetic whirring. My clothing always hid it, I looked human. I was going to live out the rest of my life like this, a cybernetic creature. I look down, a grey cat near me. It was bleeding heavily, and I could tell it had been shot.
I rushed it home, and set it onto my steel table it what was supposed to be a dining room. I turn the lights on, and start to opperate on the cat. I knew how to save him, and I was going to. Once the cat was safe, I checked for other damage. The cat had Cybernetics running through it. Cybernetics had become quite common in animals, not so much in humans. I remember how I used to be called a punk all the time, as a kid. "Now, I'm a Cyberpunk. Like the game." I mumble to myself. I went, and layed on my couch. I had used to play the game a lot as a kid, I had always like it. I smiled to myself, and close my eyes, falling asleep.
Cybernetics had become more common after a few years. Mr. Collins, now known as Dr. Collins, created a world quite like Cyberpunk. He never aged, and had been around for close to two hundred years by then. He was always seen with his grey cat, Xander. The two were never apart, and were quite famous. So you can imagine, it was quite an uproar when they suddenly dissapeared.
