A thought that ran through my mind when Hiccup and his mother shared a bonding moment.

Let me know your thoughts.

One-shot, very short

..."This gift we share, Hiccup, it bonds us. This is who you are, son. Who WE are. And we will change the world for all dragons. We will make it a better, safer place. ," Valka told her son.

"Yeah! I mean, that sounds... amazing!" Hiccup replied, excitedly.

Overjoyed, Valka embraced her son and he quickly returned it back. As Hiccup held on to his mother, many emotions arose; emotions that had been hidden deep down inside him for too long. He never thought that it would be possible to ever see his mother and yet, she was standing right in front of him. For so long, he went through life without the influence of the warm motherly support that every child needed in their life.

Sinking in to his mothers warm embrace, Hiccup let out a contented sigh and he felt something in his heart shift. A missing piece in his heart had been found; one that was lost so many years ago. He held on to his mother a bit tighter; wanting nothing more than to be reassured that this wasn't a dream, that it was all real. And it was real; he knew that now because as Hiccup held on to his mother, he felt a love grow inside him that had never been there before.

Before, Hiccup never knew his mother and the moment they reunited, he felt as if he had known her his entire life. She was right, the gift that they share did bond them. He witnessed it with his own two eyes; seeing how she acted with the dragons. He was exactly like his mother. He felt it reverberate in his soul.

Hiccup finally allowed his heart to heal; to fill in the empty space of loneliness that had been there for many years. He had his mother now and nothing else seemed to matter in that moment.

Like I said, it was pretty short.

I hope to write more HtTYD fanfictions later on in the future.
