~End Authors note~

Hard to believe the things that can happen during a video game.

Hang on, introductions are needed. I'm Anna. Not exactly the most noticeable name, and I. Am. Not. Noticed. At all. I'm the kid that sits in the corner of the lunchroom trying to read or write something without notice. Well, not completely alone. My two friends, Ash and Liam, hang out with me quite a bit. We're just ninth grade kids who don't fit in.

Suits us perfectly fine.

It started on the first day of summer break at my house. Well, my dad's house (my parents are split). I was the obsessive kid to plan a sleepover, as geeky as it sounds, on the last day of school. The day my parents were going out of town. My brothers also had plans, but not at the house. I have three brothers, one twin, one stepbrother, and one that's five years younger.

Around five in the afternoon, my friends finally arrived. Ash, with her brown hair, chocolate eyes, and face that constantly seemed hyper, showed up first on her bike. She walked inside like she owned the place, and she practically did. Liam came next, with his far too messy brown hair and dark eyes that were more secretive and way more clever than I knew. He came in with a little more restraint, but the smile he gave me turned my cheeks flaming red.

Backstory: I'd been harboring a crush on Liam since seventh grade. I never had the heart to tell him, especially since he probably didn't feel the same way. Ash kept trying to make me tell him, but every time she did, she got a slap to the face. Of course, she always got me back later.

"Come on, we have all night, let's go play Zelda!" Ash called excitedly. I rolled my eyes, leading them in the game room. It might as well have been my room, with all the time I spent in there. It consisted of a flat screen T.V., a Wii, a GameCube, a Playstation, and a Nintendo 64. I looked through the games, then picked the first game that caught my eye: Twilight Princess.

"Let's get started," I called. I slid the disk in the slot, turning on the Wii and then the T.V. The screen was blank, and for a moment I worried that the disk wasn't working right. Then the power went out.

"Oh, come on," Liam groaned. I looked out the window. Everything seemed fine; if anything it was perfect outside. I bit my lip slightly.

"Uh, guys?" Ash asked. "Look at the floor." I looked down, and my eyes widened enormously. There was a dark spot on the floor, slowly spreading outwards and taking the floor with it. I started to move, but it was too late. The floor vanished from under us, and we plummeted into darkness.

Finally, we hit the ground, only it was a softer landing than I expected. I groaned, trying to sit up. Sunlight flooded my vision, which seemed really off considering we'd just fallen through a pit. I felt water beneath me. When I finally managed to sit up, my eyes went wide with shock.

"Um…where are we?" I asked. But my question soon answered itself.

We were in Faron Woods. Somehow we'd ended up in the game.
