A/n: Rory's back... heh. Another quickie that I wrote a long time ago. So if it kinda sucks, not really my fault. Heh.

Not much to reflect on here, just... sorta... sad.

Everyone had expected the funeral hall to be full; that was why the others hadn't come. Instead, the place was completely empty, save one lone figure sitting beside the closed casket.

"Just as well," she said softly. "I wanted to talk."

The girl was quite pretty, dressed in all black for mourning. Instead of her team uniform, she wore street clothes: a dark, whispering skirt and a fitted black blouse.

"There's so much I never told you when you where alive," she told the soft, smooth wood. Somewhere in the hall, a window blew open, and a slight breeze drifted in.

She took a deep breath, looking out at the beautiful, cloudless day. "That is so like you," the girl commented. "Even on the most depressing day of my life, trying to make me smile."

Silently, she closed the window.

"I hope you don't think that I don't miss you because I'm not crying." Her voice creaked and cracked. "I don't have any tears left. I cried myself out since that day last week..."

The girl's voice faded, remembering that day.

Thinking about saying yet.

Finding him downtown.

His smile, spreading slowly from ear to ear.

The tiny flash, hitting her eye as the laser marked its target.

His eyes widening, realizing what it was, pushing her from harm's way.

Putting himself into the line of fire.

"I don't see why you did it, anyways," she said suddenly. "My body would have healed itself! Over time..."

Thing is, it would have needed months. Years. Decades, maybe, to recover from a sniper shot wound like that. If she even made it.

She sighed. "I guess - I just came to say - I love you. And I don't want you to be alone."

-

A man walked into the hall four hours later. "Miss," he said gently, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, "We're closing for the night. I'm sorry, but you'll have to leave."

The girl nodded. Yes. But, Mr. Holloway - "

He smiled. "Don't worry, Raven. We'll make sure Beast Boy stays safe."

"Thank you."
