A/N: Let's call this a random inspiration meets challenge. I've now seen the dreaded Cameron leaves episode and this is set sometime after it. To make it more challenging, I used exactly 100 words (title excluded), with the theme word being 'still'.
Still
The night is instilled with memories of years past; emotions that came to culmination on this very day. She feels them all. Acutely. That very moment. And though she knows she cannot stay, she cannot imagine a life bereft of everything that became intrinsically hers.
Her cell phone rings, piercing the stillness of the hotel room.
"You lied when you said you loved me." His voice touches her.
"I did love you."
"You still do."
"And you still don't care about me."
The line breaks off with stilted sounds of an EKG and she's left hanging on. Still. Unmovable. Stuck.
A/N: I might write more of these drabbles. While finding time for a proper chapter is difficult, I usually have a few minutes to spare here or there. I'm also tempted to say you're free to send in challenges, but for one, I can be very picky and two, I may not have enough time. So, I'll leave it up to you to decide.
