A/N: So I had a dream about this the other night, and it inspired me enough to write it down. I don't think I'll continue it, because I have no idea where I could go with it. If you have an idea, feel free to let me know!
EDIT: It should be stated that the secret is not hidden somewhere. I don't have a clue what the secret is, either. Sadly, I am as clueless as you in this matter...
The human and the alien danced across the console room, hardly touching the floor. He boasted about having the moves, and Amy wasn't quite sure what moves he was talking about.
"Come on, Pond! Put your arms into it!" the Doctor shouted, jerking about in a hilarious manner.
"Oi, you, careful not to put someone's eye out!" Amy laughed.
Rory walked in, and smiled at the pair. He looked on as his wife and his best friend, looking completely mental, danced to the music.
Suddenly, the music changed to a much slower tune.
"Mind if I cut in?" Rory asked from behind Amy, spinning her around to face him. She smiled, and they set off across the control room floor.
"Hello, Sweetie," River's voice came from behind the Doctor. He quickly turned around.
"May I have this dance?" the Doctor asked, smiling, as he extended his hand to her. River took it and smirked, and they, too, began to dance.
Not long after the song ended, Amy announced that she was headed off to bed, winking at Rory as she proceeded towards the corridor.
Rory gave her a soft smile, watched her leave, then sighed. River lightly stepped up behind him and gently placed her hand on his shoulder.
"You know you can't tell her. It's best that she doesn't know."
"I know, I… I know." Rory's voice was almost inaudible. "I just wish I could, it'd make things so much easier."
"You watched over her for two thousand years, and now you're looking for easy," the Doctor joked, but no one responded. "Rory, imagine being thrown into the sun. Now multiply that pain by a million to the power of three. That's what Amy will have to go through if she finds out about-"
"I KNOW!" Rory roared, turning to face the Timelord with menacing eyes. "I KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN. HOW CAN I NOT WITH YOU TWO REMINDING ME EVERY FIVE SECONDS?"
Both River and the Doctor remained unfazed, and all three silently looked at each other.
"Was someone yelling?" Amy asked, appearing at the corridor's archway a few minutes later. "I thought I heard Rory shouting."
"Nope, everything's fine in here. Hunky-dory, one might say," the Doctor winced. "Alright, never saying that again…"
"Amy," Rory murmured, turning to face her. He looked worn and tired. "How about you and I pop off to bed?"
Amy- looking worried- nodded, and both of them left the room and walked down the hall, leaving the two others by themselves. The Doctor looked over to River, sighed, and dragged himself over to the console.
"He's getting tired of hearing it, but he has to understand," he said warily, pushing some buttons. "She can't ever know."
River nodded, smiled slightly, and left them room.
